Evening

Evening views from the Kitchenette

Gorgeous!

A Special Tonight!

A touch of trial and error in tonight's stew menu. I added some Stubbs (Hickory Liquid Smoke to the potatoes and then the final mix). A mixed bag that didn't come out too bad at all. Hoping for the best.

Canned Chill Soup, draining off the liquid, and adding my own chilli and Bisto gravy, with some smoked capsicum and vinegar. Then some tomato Passata. Too much, perhaps?

And it came out alright... not brilliant, but satisfactory. I gave it a score of 7.40/10.

Sweet Morpheus!

Sleep was slow coming again, but when it did, I got four and a half hours worth of blissful and uninterrupted heavenly head-downing!

Saturday 17th July 2021

05:00hrs: Woke up, and with utter contempt and reluctance to returning to life, I nodded off again. And had a dream about drowning, falling from a rowing boat on the Nottingham canal? I think I was thrown out of the boat?

06:10hrs: I stirred again into an ersatz form of wakefulness, intending to drift off again to see if I died in the canal incident.

But, the need for a wee-wee changed my plans. I rose from the cosy depths of the £300, second-hand bought recliner, with incredible ease, and off to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket) and had let free a PSSU (Persistent, Short, Sharp, Uncomfortable)  mode wee-wee. A shockingly long lot of Cessational Micturitional) dribbling followed. When I get the ablutions done late on, I must wear the better protection pants, just in case.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Wet Room

Off to get the bucket emptied and sanitised in the wet room. And, needed another wee-wee while doing so. Hello, is it going to be one of those perpetually Wee-Weeing days?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The First Brew of the Day

Off to the kitchenette, the, for me, late morning view was most picturesque, I thought.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Dash to the Porcelain Throne!

In my haste and semi-panic to get to the Throne on time, a soupçon of Accifauxpas and annoying Whoopsiedangleplops had hit me when I'd gotten to the wet room:

  • I gave myself a toe-stubbing on the server wheels. Ouch!
  • Spacial Awareness Andy misjudged the distance of the door frame - Clunk!
  • Getting seated, I clouted Arthur Itis left knee on the floor cabinet corner!
  • Then things were so solid inside, there was no chance of evacuating owt!

Still, I got some crosswording done.

And the feet looked good! But pale.

.

Food Sorting and Prepping

Got some potatoes in the crock-pot, and I added some of the Stubb's Hickory Liquid Smoke. Cause I enjoyed those that I'd seasoned yesterday.

Then I checked the seasonings cupboard. Hehehe! No shortages there, then.

I cleaned the pill-splitter, had a few gulps of the Pentac medicine, and added some Jif lemon and lime to a bottle of Spring Water.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Booted Up the Computer

The dreaded blue screen comes on each time I boot the computer. (Sob!)

I'm praying that if the Carer today is Craig, he might be able to give me some tips or guidance.

I made a start on this blog and starting with last evenings events not put in yesterday.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Morning Carer Arrived

An hour later, and it was Craig calling! I mentioned the dreaded blue-screen problem and got a photo of it on the computer screen. That serves me right for thinking I was going to get some help from someone with it! But young Craig ignored it.

Craig got the medications sorted out professionally for me, and he shot off.

Started This Blog Off.

Google Blogger was changing things after I'd typed them, but I can't find out until I go into preview mode. I went into that very often!

Morning View Two

Beautiful! The delicate-looking puffer clouds are indicative of it being a hot sunny day today... Haha! But I might be wrong; it has been known.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Onto The YourArea Emagazine

In search of news snippets

Not much going on, though.

That's that, then!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

HealthUnlocked Visited

I didn't make any comments or answers. But as usual, I was amazed at the differences that so many sufferers have to put up with.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Belated Health Checks Done

The Blood Pressure was back up into the Hypertension 1 stage. But yesterdays drop into Pre-hypertension was a miracle, and it is only just a little way up higher today. Grrreat!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A Cuppa and Biscuit!

But, no! Yes, the mug of Glengettie, but instead of a biscuit or two, I had two mini pork and pickle pork pies... with Worcestershire sauce.

Fantastic flavour!

Dribble pies with Worcester Sauce!

Sister Jane Rang

We had an excellent nattering session. Fast wireless charging 10W - Qi Battery, Drone-detector facility, phone, it sounded tinny and hard for us to hear each other at times. Hehehe!

Although, as is usual with their £1605,  9 Pureview Mobile, with its Android (Pie) updatability, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Octa-Core Gold CPU, 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, HDR video, USB Type-C 3.1, %x12 MP. 28mm Camera, Bluetooth, A-GPS, Fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, Li-Po 3320 mAh, non-removable, fast charging 18W, Quick Charge 3.0, USB Power Delivery.

I enjoyed having a moan, natter and memory prompting; we both did, I think.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Feeling Drained Now

I decided to try and get a little nodding-off session before the Carer arrives. Gotten Himmel! I had an hour nod-off.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Woke Up, and off to the Late Ablutioning

Here is a report on the most amazing Ablutionalisational session ever taken!

Using the new prescription toothpaste, I surprised myself at how well I coped.

Not only did I not forget to spit out and not rinse the mouth - or use any mouthwash, the toothache was well within my bearability range! And, (this is true) no dropsies of brush or paste!

The good fortune continued with the showering. (Smug Mode Developing!) A few dropsies, but only a handful, and none worthy of recording.

Only the one Accifauxpas, when I bent down to pick up the shower gel, a decent clouting of the right shoulder on the grab trail. A bit painful, but again, not too bad!

A toe-stubbingless event!

The drying off went well as well!

The medicationalisationing... well, that didn't go so well, I'm afraid. Harold's Haemorrhoids did not take kindly to the Germloiding tonight, but I was doing it in a rush, as the Carer may come at any time. I don't see why, though?

Arthur Itis and Cathy Cartilage were fine about the Phorpain gelling.

.

But, Back-Pain-Brenda not so? Why?

As usual and not unexpectedly, the Daktacorting of Little Inchies Fungal Lesion... Hurt!

Germolene applications to the sore areas were so welcome and eased the pains well! ♥

Getting dressed, for once, went off without any Nicodemus's neurotransmitters failures or indeed any of Neuropathic Pete’s adventitious right leg Schuhplattler drop-something and flail-about dancing routines; this was Good!

A right mixed bag, but more good than bad!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Evening Carer Arrived

No sooner was I dressed and the door chimes rang out. It was Carer Helen, a friendly gal, she's been to tend to me before I think, but I had to ask her her name. I mentioned the Blue Screen and how it was affecting me, getting me down. Helen said she would ask her father if he knew anything, and she took a photo of the blue screen.

♥ That was kind of her ♥.

Got the Lounge Pants Washed

I washed, rung, refreshed and hung the so-called lounge pants I got from Amazon. About two months ago, maybe less.

They have frayed at the end of the legs. The pretend pockets have both fell to pieces. The gusset has split. Tsk!

I must do a report to Amazon.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Made a Brew of Thompsons Punjana

Getting late now, and I do not feel like eating. The two mini pork & pickle pies I had earlier seem to have fuelled me up enough?

Made the brew and took a photo of the Godsmacking evening view.

The colouring was so different to usual. I put a photo of yours truly on it for a bit of fun... I thought the connection twixt the sun and my dome was suitable for getting a smile or laugh?

Updated this Blog (Ode)

Got it sent off to blogger,

But it was a right bugger,

Blogger changing the fonts,

Sizes and formatting I wants,

Does doing this make Google feel smugger?

It's me that it affronts!

Just thought I'd mention it, like!

Friday 16th July 2021: Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

♥ TFZers Glady Trio - Amazing! ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Thursday 15th Evening

Sleep was a no go after the Carer left. So I answered some comments on Blogger. Then Facebooking catching up.

Then I'm chuffed to say I found some photos of sketches done by Billum of Ohio, for me! Touched them up, and here they are.

He's caught my essence there! Hehe!

Next, still not feeling sleepy for some unknown reason, I visited the YourArea Emagazine and picked three bits of news to use.

An aerosol? Mmm?

Well, obviously, the man is a drunkard who needs help to free himself from the grip of this vice. A few years in prison then, if not.

We've certainly not mastered the Covid-Cuties yet, have we. With the wearing of masks no longer required by law after the 19th, I fear things might get worse than they are now.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Friday 16th July 2021

Ah, well, I'll try yet again to get some sleep. But I'm not too hopeful about victory over the very stubborn Sweet Morpheus!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Nope, no good; Morpheus is mad with me for some reason or another. I got up again... And took a photo of the moon and sky.

Not a good picture of the moon, sorry.

The sky came out a little better.

Got The Health Checks Done.

Boy, Look at the Blood Pressure!

I'm almost in the green! Never been known, ever before. Very nearly in the green area! Cheered me up a tad.

Yabbadabadoo!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It's nearly time to get up, but I still tried again to get some kip. Surely this time?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I got off to kip and had an absolutely amazing four hours with Sweet Morpheus!

06:05hrs: I returned to imitation life. Had a belter of a wee-wee, and off to the wet room.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ablutions Tended To

A stand-up session so as not to use the shower too early, disturbing any of my neighbours.

I used the new prescription Duraphat® toothpaste for the first time this morning. I'll have to keep on it now I've started. I'm a little nervous of forgetting and rinsing out the mouth or gargling with mouthwash - these are no-nos with this paste.
Dangerous! I'll see how it goes. Things went reasonably all the same. Dropsies were less than usual? The toothache was bad!

The feet looked terribly pale.

Might it be something to do with my having the lowest ever Blood Pressure?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Potatoes

Got some potatoes in the slow cooker and seasoned them with a drop of the Stubbs Hickory liquid smoke for the first time. Just to see if it makes any difference to the taste.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Morning View

What a beautiful sight!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Carer Arrived Late

Same gal as yesterday. Yet again, some carers did not come into work, so this carer is almost doing double shifts and is feeling the pressure. I managed to cheer her up a smidge after she'd sorted the medication and checks that some of them don't do, i.e. Am I wearing the wrist alarm? Have I taken any Paracetamol, Poo softeners or hardeners, had any Peptac reflux suppressant or used the Phorpain gel? ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Whoopsiedangleplop!

I fear the worst, and I need some help... No idea what to do or not to do!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Waste Bags assembled

I got the bags made up and taken to the waste chute room, and deposited.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Where should I Go?

I returned to the apartment, and I entered a semi-panic mode. The plans made earlier in the grey cells container were suddenly uncertain; I mused confusedly over which route to take regarding my upcoming mission to get some fresh pod peas. I needed to make up my mind - which is difficult enough nowadays, but it required a quick decision, or I'll miss the bus!

The original scenario was to go to Morrisons in Bulwell on the L19 bus in search of fresh pod peas... but as I said, my confidence shrunk at the thought of getting it all wrong as I did last week - missing the bus home... Mmm?  I opted to go to town, where it is certain I should find some pod peas? So, I made the decision instantly (after ten minutes of mithering and indecision). Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Went Out For The Bus

It sounds such a simple thing to say - went out for the bus, doesn't it. But anyone who knows me, nothing is simple nowadays. Let's cast our minds back over the last few days (before the memory leaves me altogether, Hehe!)

I missed the bus back from Morrisons. Ended up walking all the way into Bulwell! I went down to go out, forgot the camera, come up, fetched it and went down again. Then the fire alarm stranded me on the ground floor with the lifts not working, and I missed the bus!

I got up at 03:00hrs, and everything was sorted for a bus trip out to get shopping from Asda. Oh, no! The carer was so late, I missed the bus!

However, on this occasion, there were no Whoopsiedangleplops! That fooled yer? Hahaha!

On my way to the bus stop, I called to see ILC, Obergruppenfhüreress and Lap-Top dancer Warden Deana. Out to the shelter.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Gossiping Mode Engaged!

I love this when I can get the chance!

Had a natter with Roy, Jon, Jean, Joy and others to the bus stop. The bus was late, but that suited me down to the ground, as it meant by the time he got here, it was gone 09:30hrs, and we could all use our bus passes! Bless the driver!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Hectic Bus Ride To Town

The bus got steadily fully as we progressed. As usual, the ride was as standard for such a steep route, filled with speed bumps, uncomfortable, and it upset Harolds Haemmorhoids. I felt the warm wet sensation of the bleeding! Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

All off at Lower Parliament Street

Arthur Itis's knees had frozen a little and were rather painful. Getting off the bus, Rose asked if I was alright, bless her cotton socks.

I ambled along, and crossed over the road, and began in earnest, my mission to find some pod [eas on sale, somewhere, anywhere!

Rose had said to try the Victoria Market, so that's what I did, made a B-line into the Vic Centre.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Into the MArket

A most disappointing result (mind you, the later ones were worse!). The fruit and Veg Stall did have some Pod Peas on display!!! Unfortunately, they were there several days ago, they looked at it, as well! I was curious at the caterpillar, and some sort of worm hat appeared to be feasting on the few pods there were there; in fact, I think one was skating on the liquid coming out of some of the pods. Hehe! The aroma reminded me of when I worked at the maggot factory in Colwick. I didn't buy any, but I still had faith that Tesco would have some on sale. (Huh!)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

On To Try Tesco

And try me, they did! They did not have any pod peas on sale, nor Pork Knuckle, or any Milk Roll bread - however, they did have two items that tempted me. First, some mini new potatoes (£1.00 - 85p at Morrisons)  Then, some Sweet Mixed Baby Tomatoes, at £1.50 (Lidl's were £1.25) when I bought some last week.

 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Miffed, I left the Shopping Centre

Crossing over Milton Street, to call at the Waitrose Store, surely this time, they would have some pod peas to sell me?

But No! Another failure! Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I Left Waitrose, Purchaseless

What's going on here? Why no fresh pod peas? We are in the best three weeks of the season for them now, as well? A cunning political ploy might be played out here?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I Hobbled to the Slab Square

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Went In The Poundland Store

No pod peas, as anticipated, but I did spend rather a lot in there. Guiltily!

Crisps and snacks, many of them! Birdseed, and some pots of cream desserts.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Back over the Slab Square

And up Queen Street to the bus stop. I was in a slightly depressed mood due to my failure in my mission of the day to get some fresh pod peas. I am addicted, you know... still sod them!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Caught The 40 Bus

I was the only passenger to get on? Where were the other Nottinghamians? Buying fresh pod peas? Hahaha! The bus soon filled up en route, and we were quickly back at the flats. I was battered and bruised, mind you.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Back On Terra-firma!

I entered the building through Winchester Court and used the link passages to get back home to Woodthorpe Court.

Taking photographs on my way:

In Winchester Court's foyer door.

Next, into the lift lobby...
Unlocked the door...
Nor the wet room...
Or the front room, either?

Into the first part of the link-route

Passing the Winwood Court laundry room.

The second section of the passage.

Through the end, swipe door, into my beloved Woodthorpe Court.

Into the extraordinarily decorative and appealingly designed Woodthorpe section.

Into the Woodthorpe lift lobby.

And up to the twelfth floor. Where I did a selfie as I got out of the cage...

Then realised I had my mask on! Hehe!

And I could hear a terrible racket of clanging banging noise, as I opened the door? I went through the hallway to try and investigate what was causing the ruckus! Nothing was untoward in the hallway?

The kitchen was okay as well?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So, I got the Shirt Washed

Then realised I'd left the shopping and trolley guide out in the flat lobby. Humph!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Medicationalisationing

Poor old Harold's Haemorrhoids needed a spot of treatment again. But that Germoloid ointment is as good as any, be, better than most!

I noticed that the blotches and bruises at the top of the legs had all but gone?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got the Nosh Prepped

A can of chilli soup; drained of watery fluids, and made up some gravy. I added the smoked chilli and some liquid smoke to it, some tomato passata and a low heat on the hob in the saucepan.

I think I may have overdone the passata?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A Brew of Thompsons Punjana

I spotted the clouds out of the kitchenette window, and I saw something in them straight away. So, I took a snap of the view.

Can you see what I saw, too?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Evening Carer Came ♥

The efficient Carer came, same as this morning, and she had been working all day again! Poor Gal!.

Finished Off This Blog

It took me many hours, most of the time correcting my errors and Bloggers unwanted changes to my own formatting! Grrr! They still come out different! Grobbleknackerbangles!

Emailed the link. Had a bash at Facebooking.

Ode To The Missing Pod Peas!

My thoughts as to these mystery shortages of peas,

Bring forth confusion and circumstantiality,

Who's planning this underhand wheeze?

A money-making scheme, if they please,

There's cheating going on, duality!

What next, no bread, no cheese?

This involves money men and criminality,

Off-shore investors, and their coercivity!

They make a profit as easily as they please,

They get some themselves, so they can freeze!

But it's so cruel, hiding away my fresh pod peas!
