Friday 23rd July 2021: Diary, Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

♥ TFZer Showtime Special ♥

Friday 22nd July 2021 Last night

Caught up with Facebooking, TFZers and Winwood Heights visited. Then a snack that was of an unplanned design...

I'd forgotten about the pod peas in the pan, and when I went to make the late snack, potatoes, beef slices, and garden peas was the plan... The peas were burnt, waterless, dark and well-wrinkled! A bit like... no, never mind that. Hehehe! But hey-ho, they tasted absolutely marvellous, so sweet!

The beef, after some consideration, I thought best not to eat, as part of my diet plan... No, that's a fib! I'd not turned the heat on when I put it in the saucepan. Humph!

So, it was potatoes, peas and a pot of naughty-but-nice Strawberry vanilla dessert.

Not been a good day, really, has it? Foods not being available, two tumbles, the computer on death row, running out of medications... Clapnangles!

Friday 23rd July 2021 Beginneth Another Day

05:30hrs: I almost jumped awake, full of panic, and had no idea why? Then fell asleep again.

0620hrs: Bestirred again, but no panic, just a battle to remember that something has to be done today; I felt whatever it was that I could not remember was important. I lay pondering over the problem for a few minutes, then gave up, and dismounted the £300, second-hand, c1968, cringingly-beige-coloured, not-working, rickety, incommodious recliner.

Wee-wee in the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket), a lot of PMD (Pre-Micturition-Dribbling)  this morning? Thank heavens for the PP's! Got a pro-tem wash. Cleaned the NWWB and off into the kitchenette. After checking around to see if I'd left anything else on or off that shouldn't be, I got the kettle on the boil and the tea bag in the mug.

Got the potatoes in the crockpot... and the summoning t the Porcelain Throne arrived.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Excellent Session

Little effort requires smooth flowing gigantic mini torpedoes scurried into the bowl, plop plop, plop! Not too messy, only a tiny bit of bleeding! A well satisfactory evacuation.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Health Checks Collated

Aha, Gotcha! All BP results were back in the greens.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Computer Booted

The Blue Screen is coming up every time that I open up the computer still.

I just can't get any help with this. Panic mode each time I see it! It's scary, and I get mind-muddled trying to decipher what it means and what to do.

Started on this template. Shortly, the Morning Carer arrived and entered the room... It made me jump a bit. Hehehe! But it was a nice jump when I saw that it was Ilea... or Helen, it might have been Valerie... no, no, I think it was Julie, perhaps? Whatever her name, she was very welcome. Got me sorted out medication wise. ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Alarm Heard?

I could hear a sort of whining alarm going off, and it kept on for a few minutes. I went into Sherlock Holmesian Mode, and I went to investigate.

I could not tell from whence the noise derived from. So I went onto the balcony, to have a listen to try to find its origin - It was fainter out there. Then to the flat's door, opened it and had a harken - Couldn't hear it at all, in the apartment's hallway. No fire alarm was activating? Back in there, it was louder... but what was it? What was causing it? I deduced that I had no idea! Hehe! Into the kitchen, and I could hear it once again, but not as loud as in the computer room?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Computerisationing

After a few minutes of working on this blog, noises emanated from Herbert's apartment above. No doubt where they were coming from... Clunk, thump, thuds, bangs... then it dawned on me (things do that at times, I've noticed that!), Herbert may have been using a drill on one of his steam running charity model-making jobs?

Ah, well, nowt to fret about then!...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Whoopsiedangleplop!

I rose to take the mug and make another brew, and I stubbed my toe against the swivel chair leg arm... New bother to a man of my pain resistance...

Then, smugly in a way, for not having dropped the tea mug, I turned, and Nicodemus's Neurotransmitter went on the rampage for a few seconds - enough for me to have...

The same poor digit that had just been stubbed!

Ah-well, all part of ageing! Or not?

Gragnangles!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Herbert's Hard At It

Doing an awful lot of drilling today. I'd love to know what it is he is making. But I never see him nowadays to get sneered at, looked down on, or ignored each time we met.

Not that I am saying he is snotty, acts superior, doesn't give a toss about anyone else - or why would he be making models for charities?

Fair enough, he does come across as being uncommunicative: laconic, taciturn, aloof, even Laodicean at times. But I like him.

Electoral Information Demand Letter

Filled it in online.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

CorelDrawing - Graphics Needed Urgently

Managed a couple, and...

The Mobile Phone Chirped

It was hard work listening as the signal kept fading again. Transpires if I want help with shopping, food controlling, and the medication carers it will cost me 'about' £165 a week! Well, I'll jump at that!

Seriously though, Neelah gave me time to think it through for a while.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Then, as with every day...

So, I gave up and got the very late ablutions sorted out. Not a good day today, and it ain't nowhere near over yet awhile!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Off To The Wet Room

Bit of mess that was, too! Peripheral Pete was having a hay-day with his jerks, shakes and loss of balance attacks. I was all over the place... until I got in the shower, and things calmed down! The feet looked fine today.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got the bath towel washed

Washed, rinsed, refreshed, rung and hung.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Checked the Car Park Progress

It looks like they're putting in new rain drains?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I got On With Pea Podding Duties

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Washed the kitchen gear used

And made a very welcome mug of tea. Made a spring water bottle up, and I drank off the last of the Tango (Wish I'd bought two bottles now), taking some Paracetamols, and...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Warden Deana's head appeared at the Door?

ILC (Independent Living Coordinator), Oberstgruppenfuhreress, Warden and Ballet Dancer, Deana, came in.

Ahe asked if I was alright - "I said yes, thank you."

"Sarah has phoned me to say you are late for your feet appointment?"

ME: "Oh, that's not until Friday..."

Deana: "It is Friday!"

Me: "Oh, crabs!"

Deana: I'll phone her for you..." Which she did! Bless her cotton socks!

After calling, Deana: "She can still do you, do you if you can get down straight away!

Me: "I will, thank you!

I did feel a fool, again!

As Deana was leaving, I fumbled about; she told me not to hurry too much; you're not looking very steady on your feet! How did she know? Hehe.

I eventually got dressed and into the sleeveless jacket and took the waste bags to the chute room on the way out. Got a lift down and hastened to the Hairdressers in Winwood Court.

I apologised when I arrived. And I waited to be seen too by Sarah (In my dreams, Haha!)

Stung me a few times, cutting the nails, and told me to throw the shoes I was wearing. I think I was in the bad book again! Hehe! The other lady said she would phone me to remind me of the next appointment. I thank you!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Returned To The Flat

Threw the shoes into the waste chute en route. And hobbled barefoot back to the flat.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Kettle On, Updating This blog

But progress was inestimably slow. And it was time already for the evening carer to arrive!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Which Cheered me up a Smidge

For it was the same gal as this morning! Her name was, her name was  Eliska, Pamela, Carole, maybe Helena... No, I think it was Jill? Whatever it was, a treat to see her again. She came this morning, so she's had a long day. She soon had me sorted. No wonder she had to rush off. Of course, it may have had something to do with my unintentional micro escapage of wind from the rear end? Deadly it was, I'm afraid. Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ode To Today's Misery!

I feel like I've been in a brutal fistfight,

At the end of this cruel Friday night,

Troubled with Saccades, terrible eyesight,

Too many errors; it's not fair or right...

_._._._._._

Pre-Micturition-Dribbling, but wee-wees so few?

The Throne session, that was a good one too!

The Health Checks made me feel luck was due,

Computer breaks my heart, a message in blue!

_._._._._._

Mystery noises like an alarm repeated,

I couldn't rest, relax or stay seated,

Stubbing my toe, thrice - I felt defeated,

I dropped the tea mug; my faith depleted!

_._._._._._

Noisy drilling from Herbert - my kryptonite!

Electoral details updated, misery at its height,

Social Services called, and I turned really white,

Proposed charging me £165 a week, well I might...

No, perhaps not, to the bank manager a blight!

I suppose I must be sound moaning & trite? That's right!

_._._._._._

I feel like I'm living life in a blindfold,

No idea where to go or do, not feeling very bold,

Why, on my potatoes today, I saw some mould?

Life is like a dodgy scaffold,

Likey to crumble, to stop you getting old?

Virgin Internet went down, I did pray,

I wished for problems to go away...

T'would be worth more than gold, a  thousandfold!

Then my finger I did scold...

_._._._._._

Worserer, the Chiropodists appointment, I'd forgotten,

This made me feel useless and rotten,

I rushed there, but was not popular then...

I hope they'll let me visit again!

_._._._._._

But I feel, unabsolved,

The Whoopsiedangleplops, continually evolved,

If my memory problems could get resolved...

Then I would be less frampold!

Got This Blog Checked

It getting late now, and with the hassles of the day, there is still much needing  to be caught up on...

Soddit!

I'll get it it checked and posted and catch up on tomorrows somehow.

I'm Fed-Up!

Thursday 22nd July 2021: Diary, Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Thursday 22nd July 2021

Woke at about 05:00hrs, in need of a wee-wee. Almost effortlessly, I clambered out of the c1968 recliner, and I utilised the overnight emergency bucket. A weak, dribbling effort again. Worryingly, Little Inchies fungal lesion had been bleeding, and the painful process of ointmentating had to be done. No, bother, of course, for a man of my heroical bravery. No oohing and arghing, wincing or Argh's! (Well, not many), Hahaha!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Into a Mind-Haze-Mode!

I'll try to explain as best I can what a Mind-Haze-Mode involves.

You find yourself starting a job and realise you've gone on to another to do. Not yet having completed the first task... then something distracts your feeble brain further; It may be noise from Herbert above you - or the intercom going off, or the door chime coming to life, all equally good at confusing you. Then, with the first two intentions still in mid-progress, you'll start on a third one... Often unaware of the first job, until it comes to light later, you'll leave whatever current task is to hand and start the cycle repeatedly.

This example may oversimplify things, but it can generally be understood by those lucky enough not to have this Mind-Haze-Mode, affliction.

I think... Where was I?

Oh, yes! Somehow or other, I found I was doing the hand washing in the kitchen sink and noticed the potatoes had been partial put in the crockpot.

I finished off the Afghanistani made, green long-sleeved t-shirt, all washed, rung, and hung to dry.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Stand-Up Ablutions

Too early to use the shower cause of the noise it makes, disturbing my sleep-late neighbours.

The feet needed cleaning, but I'll do that later in the shower; I take a washing-up bowl in with me to stand in to get the feet refreshed and titivated. (Cunning or what?) Hehehe!

Despite my rushing to get done in time for the Carer to arrive, the dropsies were far less than usual? Only two minuscule nicks shaving.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Health Checks Done

Mmm? Not so good today. The BP was back up into near the Hypertension Stage 2 colouring.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Porcelain Throne Visit

This session was just as smooth, pain-free, unmessy, and non-toxic as yesterday. It was almost a pleasure.... until I found that Little Inchies fungal lesion had been bleeding again!

The nurses at the City Hospital, after having my heart replacement, called me 'Stoic'. Hahaha! I do have a higher pain threshold and pain tolerance than most... with all of my ailments, bar the ointmentating of the fungal lesion! So I looked up what it meant when I got home.

But getting at the lesion to put the miconazole and hydrocortisone ointment on the wound is the only source of pain that I find overbearing.

Hehehe! Just thought I'd mention it. Then if anyone finds me whimpering with my pants down around my ankle, they'll know why!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Made A Brew Of Glengettie

And a Carer Appeared in the Room!

A first-time caller, a pretty young thing. I think she said that her name was Katzia. She found there were no Codeines left in the bag? After searching around, I found a few out-of-date Codeines in the rubbish drawer; I used them. Some other items were down to their last few tablets as well.

No communications about the status of the prescriptions from Meridian.

I ask Katzia if she would please ask Natalie if she could update me on the prescriptions situation.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ode To The Medications

Carers, now sorting the meds - I couldn't drop a clanger,

Then the creams for things like my furuncular,

Little Inchies, fungal lesion... more painfuller!

Harolds Haemorrhoids, Dakacort, makes me shudder!

Oil for the ears and drops for Sandra Saccades,

There's other stuff, but my memory fades,

My brain loses things; facts go off my radar!

This doesn't please or make me jocular,

Getting through another day... spectacular!

Even if I look and feel like Dracula!

A silly little ode to cheer me up. It didn't!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Internet Down Again!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Intercom Came to Life!

T'was the Iceland Delivery

I got to the now working intercom, and I pressed the admission button into the flats. I made my way to the front door, and...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Accifauxpa - Whoopsiedangleplop!

Right leg, Peripheral Pete kicked off on one of his Schuhplattler dance routines. Taking place in the narrow hallway, I'm usually able to avoid going over - But not this time. It happened quickly; I hit the trolley and knocked off all of the cans and bottles on the radiator in seconds. Incidentally, with the bottle of WKD breaking as it hit the trolley on its way to the carpet, I now realised that the blue WKD is carbonated - it sprayed me in the face as my head joined the bottle on the floor. I just thought I'd mention it.

.

The above is how things looked after the kind Iceland man opened the door when he heard the commotion - then got me up onto my feet again. He then picked up the bottles for me! ♥

Also, he pointed out that I may have a 'blood blister' coming up on the finger I'd clouted in the wires of the trolley basket as I went down. Which are now bent and distorted (the wires)! As one can expect after so many flabby stones of body mass had just fallen on it belly-first, with a thud!

He put the bags inside the doorway for me.

I thanked the man, who checked that I didn't need any more help and was feeling alright before he said I'll be off then, take care. A gent!

I insisted he takes his choice of the cans and bottles available and thanked him again.

Things are getting hectic here... Hehehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Bags to the Kitchen for Sorting

Got the fridge food put away first.

Keep the strawberry and pork & pickle pies cold before sharing them as thank-you treats with the new biscuits and other odd bits.

Getting the stuff in the freezer was a work of art, but I managed it with a bit of shuffling. Hehe!

Herbert above was doing some banging about - that or it was someone else.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Back Into Mind-Haze-Mode!

As I went into one of the odd modes, and I started job-hopping again. Tsk!

I hung the shirt washed earlier to dry near the open window.

Then got the pod peas out of the fridge and in pots, ready to be podded.

Then got the Lounge pants soaking in liquid soap powder in the bowl in the sink.

Back to the peas... and started podding away.

About halfway through, and I went back to the lounge pans in the bowl, got them washed, refreshed, rung and hung up to dry.

Back again to pod peas and finished podding, and put the peas in a saucepan with some Worcestershire sauce to marinate.

Then as I washed the bowls used, I realised the value of the plug strainer I'd bought. It had stopped some bit of stalk and part of a leaf; that was so tiny from going down the drain hole. That should help with not blocking the drains.

Smug-Mode-Engaged!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Deana Called

Pick up the things. We had a natter, well I did. Deana couldn't get many words in. Hehehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Herbert's Flat

Some horrendously loud drilling started above my head. But it stopped after a few seconds?

Time For a Nibble.

Two small pork and pickle pies and a bag of vinegar flavoured Quavers, mayhaps? I shall investigate and prepare things.

I ended up having a little feast. Wholemeal cobs, orange tomatoes, chilli chicken fillets, potatoes, and some podded garden peas.

Taste Rating: 705/10.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Head Down
(Well, that was the plan anyway)

I think I got about half-an-hour kip in, woke and went to have a much-belated shower. I remembered to take the bowl in with me to try and clean the big toenail on the right foot; it looked terribly dirty. I tried to get at it with the loofa and shaking the foot in the soapy water but could not get it clean? I reached for my spectacles, and I had a better look - it was a bruise underneath the nail! Possibly from the tumble earlier? Then...

The Doorchimes Rang Forth!

Katsia came in, opened the wet room door and asked if I needed any help... Hehehe! Gawd, the temptation to say 'Yes please!' almost got to me.

I got dried off in record time and got to see Katsia sorting through the medications. Some more tapping, knocking, scraping noises coming from Herbert's area above. Katsia heard it and mentioned it. Talking with this gal was hard to understand what she was saying. I think it was the same for her as well. ♥ She'd had a long day working, this morning she served me, now tonight, without a break, and still has more clients to tend to, bless her.

More tapping, knocking, scraping noises coming from Herbert's area above. But not for long.

Updated This Blog

Got it finished, checked and awaited Blogger to change all my formatting, which it did! Corrected things back to what I wanted, and still Blogger, the blogger, changed some configurations when it published the diary?

Grumph!

Wednesday 21st July 2021: Diary, Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

TFZer - His part-Time Job at the Tower Hehehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Wednesday 21st July 2021

Yee Gods! I overslept! Me? Amazing!

5½ hours of Sweet Morpheus's attentions, 01:00 to 06:30hrs! But this caused a semi-panic, then a Whoopsidenagleplop or two, as I woke up - a certain amount of confusion as well. Here's how things developed, as best I can recall: Woke up, I realised it was light... Looked at the wristwatch, then the clock... 06:30hrs: I remembered the Sainsbury's order was due twixt 06:30hrs and 07:30hrs... Fumbling my way out of the c1968 recliner, I thought I heard the door chimes... I nearly went over in getting to the door... But, no one was there? Then it dawned on me: it was the Intercom that was making the tune... It stopped before I could get to it... Then the landline rang forth - it was the JS deliveryman. I pressed the admit button... Scrambled about getting some trousers on... The indignant looking driver kindly threw the stuff in the box and bags for me and put them urgently inside the doorway...

I offered him a choice of plonk in thanks...
But this did not go down well with the chap...
Off he trundled, and I got the goods into the kitchenette to unload.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Sorted Out the Shortages

And things I'd ordered wrongly, Tsk!

The first lot had some naughty, comfort foods, and the best thing delivered: Fresh Pod Garden Peas. Got some at long last! Yee-Haa!

I thought I'd ordered two 200gm bags of misshaped mini potatoes but got it wrong - it was two bigger bags of 750gm!

Then, I found the 500gm bag of unperfect larger potatoes I assumed I'd ordered; it was a 2,500gm bag! I should be alright for potatoes, then?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Wee-wee and a Wash

I felt a little sturdy medically afterwards. But not the brain. That was, that was still in a stubborn and excerebrose-mode!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Onto the Computer.

I took this snap of the view through the balcony. And as I was about to start on this blog.

Then... Humph!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

No Internet I got the spuds Started

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Health Checks Done

Ah, the good run on the Blood Pressure and other tests seems to be coming to an end?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Meridian Carer Arrived

It was supervisor Natalie. She seemed a little tense at first? But I brought her round with a few funnies and had her smiling again. She spoke of the shortages of medications, and I told her I'd mentioned to yesterdays carer. She's to look into the prescriptions and ring the Pharmacy for me. Bless Her! ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Pod Peas Shelled!

Highlight Of The Day to Date!

Using my well planned and highly efficient new method of de-podding, the peas suited me down to the ground:

"One for the pot, one for me!" Hehehe!.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

With so many items missing from the J Sainsbury order, I opted to make one for Iceland. Their site was in a bad state, dead slow, changing pages of its own accord Etcetera.! And getting in to pay for the goods was farcical, the order kept going to 'Save'. I'm not even sure how I got it in eventually.

I had to try three times to get a response by email that they had got the order. Hey-Ho!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Second Best Job of the Day

I had another go at making some pickled cucumber. I've lost the recipe I kept from the successful one I did - or rather, I can't find it!

I'll see how they come out. I added with the other ingredients a good splash of Worcester Sauce... that might prove disastrous. Hehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Putting the jar into the fridge, I caught the China mug hanging on its hook... Argh! Another miracle, it didn't break! And it travelled a fair way before it hit the floor; phew!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Landline Call In

A lady from Social Care rang me. A lengthy question and answer session later... I think we agreed to be visited by someone, but what it was concerning, I'm not sure. Perhaps paying for help with the laundering, or shopping?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got The Nosh Sorted

Very late now, so I'll get the fodder made up and see how I feel then.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

92°f on the balcony thermometer!

The late afternoon sun is now in an optimum position to fry me to a crisp! I pulled together the hand me down moth-eaten, thin, threadbare curtains in a vain effort to keep cooler. Got down in the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, wobbly-recliner, and Zzzz!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

An hour-and-a-half later, at 18:00hrs...

I woke, passed wind involuntarily, the glasses fell off of my head, I knocked the food tray off of my bulbous belly, and the landline rang and flashed. A rude awakening, you could say? ☺

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Evening Carer Arrived

The gal had tended to me before a few times, a nice lady, always polite and after doing her paperwork and tabletmentising, had a little chinwag. Then, went with me to the waste-chute room as I took the bags to be deposited, Bless Her ♥.

An Ode To Today

At times today, it felt like I was on a high,

Ready, able and willing to fly!

I'd begged for existence to simplify,

Feeling my brain would either melt or solidify,

Reasons for these emotions, I couldn't ratify,

The memory is fractured, I cannot deny,

Could my brain, the Doctors detoxify?

My worries and fears seemed to magnify,

Other times, I withdrew, just wanted to cry?

Saw the moon, was the end really nigh?

What's it all about - and Why?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I wish these Thought Storms would stop!
