WEDNESDAY 8th SEPTEMBER 2021

06:10hrs: Consciousness was reinstituted, and my first thoughts were shared with Teddy & Koala (Above). They didn't make any comments. But it made me feel better, pretending someone was with me.

Up & At Them...

With a perkiness, not seen for a while, I abandoned the warmth of the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, wobbly-recliner, with fantastic ease? I took a weak, unwilling wee-wee.

Tended to the Health Checks. Not very good again today, though.

The pulse was racing away. I tried again on the new sphygmomanometer, thinking this reading may be wrong or the machine faulty? The SYS was still 164, but the DIA was down to 65, and the pulse was surprisingly even higher at 105! So I made the graph using the first figures.

ACCIFAUXPAS!

Off to the kitchen, to find I had left the hot water tap running and it obviously it was running out cold! Self Hatred & Disgust flowed, bile in the tummy!

WHOOPSIEDANGLEPLOP

I opened a can of peas for use later, and Nicodemus's neurotransmitters failed as I was draining the juice. The peas fell into the sink! The bowl onto the floor, and I knocked the strainer off the counter!

Not another lousy day coming?

Cleaned things up. The hardest bit was getting the peas from the sink; as soon as I touched them, they disintegrated? A heck of a job! Fortunately, I'd got the drain filter over the plughole, so I prevented any peas going down that might have blocked the waste pipe. (Phew!)

Pottered About

I made a brew of Glengettie tea. Got the spuds ready for cooking later.

Made up some waste bags, put them n the box near the door.

Then, the door chimes chimed...

Morning Carer Arrived

It was Carer Elena. The one with the eyes that could easily melt a bloke!

Elena was in a caring mood, bless her. Got the medications sorted, and we had a mini-gossip and managed a smile or two. Gave her a nibble as she left. She even took the bags to the chute for me on her way out. Bless her cotton socks ♥.

Spent Hours Blogging

I had to make the template first, then started creating this post.

Slow, tedious work, due mainly to Nicodemus's neurotransmitters. They were missing so often, I very nearly dropped the mug of tea twice; and did drop the pencil several times, even knocked the pad and camera off of the top!

Mused at the Emagazine.

To see if anything happening was worth putting on here. During this procedure, I suffered four 'Herberts'!

Covid-19 Latest for Nottingham

Numbers down on the previous week. But still enough numbers of new cases, not to take sensible precautions?

The rest was all crimes, stabbings, burglaries, Con-Men (That reminded me of the declutterers I used!), missing persons, drink-drug drivers and other such dour happenings from Nottingham.

Made Template In Advance

Created for tomorrow. For me, to try to get ahead a little for once.

Called To Porcelain Throne

Utter failure! Solid as a rock! Harder than Concrete! I sat sitting there, expecting my rear end to be spit open, such was the pressure... But nothing moved, not even any wind escaping! More Dioctyl® needed, methinks? I spent so long in the wet room, I got one more solution to crossword 100, not finished it, of course. Then I moved on to puzzle 101, and even got some clues solved on that one!

Back To Template

Got it done finally. Getting well into the afternoon now. An hour or two to go before the Amazon order, being delivered by DPD, arrival hour starts.

Stopped for a Mug of Glengettie

Took a snap of the end car park.

Luckily, I managed to get all of the vehicles parked there in the shot. Hehe!

Got a decent shot of East Sherwood.

Back to Blogging

No, Sorry - Food Instead!

Microwave sausage muffin, Jenny supplied gorgeous home-grown tomatoes and a few potatoes. Followed by a lemon mousse. Very nice and tasty it was, too!

Ablutionalisationing

I was Gobsmacked!

No cut gums or teeth - One... I repeat, ONE teeny-weenie cut shaving! No toe-stubbing, no Dizzy Dennis, Shaking Shaun, visits. And I didn't walk into anything, bang owt, or topple over... What a Session!

New Braces Arrived

The chap was soon up at the door. He checked on my name, date of birth and took a photo. I got light but big-box onto the recliner and took these snaps...

When I got the parcel opened, the two pairs of braces in the white bags were dwarfed by the packaging!

Got the cardboard and paper to the waste chute, and I got it down out of the way.

Unfortunately...

I gave myself a self-inflicted toe-stubbing of superior quality when leaving the room. It hit my own foot with the walking stick, known to me as Wooden-William.

Evening Care Arrived Nice & Early

It was Valerie. The gal seemed under some pressure tonight somehow. Shame! Bless her, I tried to perk her up, but I think I failed rather miserably this time.

UPdated this blog

I thought I could see something on the carpet near the waste bin as I was doing this. Thinking it had to be waste from the box rubbish, I got the picker-upperer, and I tried to gather it...

It refused to be collected? Haha! Moments later, I realised what it was. I can be quick-witted at times, you know...

It was the ebbing sunshine, going through the holes in the basket, onto the floor!

I did feel a fool. Well, a mutton-head, twerp, nincompoop, schmuck, and or gudgeon as well, like. I rather think that pillock would perhaps be the most condign word to describe my asininity? Take your pick.

The Herberts!

Oh, I'd nearly forgotten. I've been keeping track of the Herbert's on the notepad all day. I've kept a record of how many each hour (Roughly). Here they are:

I admit to having arithmophobia. But, using the two sheets of notes (and the computer calculator), I reckon I've only had to contend with 41 Herberts today! Mind you give me time, it can be increased late at night sometimes...

  1. I need to find a time machine that can take me back to 1992, and on to 1974 while we're at it. The only problem: building the time machine. So, one single problem, how hard could that be?
Yer BP reading is down quite a bit from the last couple days. On the average, the blood pressure seems to be improving. Why are so few cars taking advantage of the nice new parking spaces? At least the red cars are enjoying them.
Those peas made quite an interesting formationm, looked like a continent somehow.
The Covid experience just keeps going on and on. The sheer number of unvaccinated should make people worry, instead they shrug their collective shoulders. Wot the heck? I read yesterday that one out of every 75 people in the state of Tennessee has contracted the infection. A strange thing to contemplate. I *have* noticed that more people at our local grocer now wear masks. Of course, I am among them. Who knows what people think? Looks like I am in the dark on this matter. My son Alan has introduced us to a newly designed N95 mask that allows you to breathe much more easily. A grand invention, perhaps invented in Nottingham?

    1. I'm sure that if you can a spare 20 minutes, you could knock up a workable plan for TM, Billum. A sketch idea? HRH and Billum in the Time Machine? An idea for a graphic for me, too?

End car park empty again this morning? Fear of yobbos in the bushes?

Spilted pea, pee's me off, I had a few pee and pea problems lately. Hahaha!

Covid concerns are hightened, the carers have new face masks now, well those who visited me. I'll have to look up the N96 masks, nice link to Nottinghan. Well done, Alan!

      TTFN, best of luck.

  2. Nice of Elena to have a chinwag and gossip. I'm surprised they can hold up to all the folks they have to care for. Excellent photos. Nice looking mini meals.

    1. Elena is a good gal, when I'm on her list, she tries to come to me first, good and early when she can, bless her.
Going to go on another, Firefox maybe, to try and get to WP and stay on it.
      Cheers, Sir.
