Friday 16th July 2021: Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

♥ TFZers Glady Trio - Amazing! ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Thursday 15th Evening

Sleep was a no go after the Carer left. So I answered some comments on Blogger. Then Facebooking catching up.

Then I'm chuffed to say I found some photos of sketches done by Billum of Ohio, for me! Touched them up, and here they are.

He's caught my essence there! Hehe!

Next, still not feeling sleepy for some unknown reason, I visited the YourArea Emagazine and picked three bits of news to use.

An aerosol? Mmm?

Well, obviously, the man is a drunkard who needs help to free himself from the grip of this vice. A few years in prison then, if not.

We've certainly not mastered the Covid-Cuties yet, have we. With the wearing of masks no longer required by law after the 19th, I fear things might get worse than they are now.

Friday 16th July 2021

Ah, well, I'll try yet again to get some sleep. But I'm not too hopeful about victory over the very stubborn Sweet Morpheus!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Nope, no good; Morpheus is mad with me for some reason or another. I got up again... And took a photo of the moon and sky.

Not a good picture of the moon, sorry.

The sky came out a little better.

Got The Health Checks Done.

Boy, Look at the Blood Pressure!

I'm almost in the green! Never been known, ever before. Very nearly in the green area! Cheered me up a tad.

Yabbadabadoo!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It's nearly time to get up, but I still tried again to get some kip. Surely this time?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I got off to kip and had an absolutely amazing four hours with Sweet Morpheus!

06:05hrs: I returned to imitation life. Had a belter of a wee-wee, and off to the wet room.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ablutions Tended To

A stand-up session so as not to use the shower too early, disturbing any of my neighbours.

I used the new prescription Duraphat® toothpaste for the first time this morning. I'll have to keep on it now I've started. I'm a little nervous of forgetting and rinsing out the mouth or gargling with mouthwash - these are no-nos with this paste.
Dangerous! I'll see how it goes. Things went reasonably all the same. Dropsies were less than usual? The toothache was bad!

The feet looked terribly pale.

Might it be something to do with my having the lowest ever Blood Pressure?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Potatoes

Got some potatoes in the slow cooker and seasoned them with a drop of the Stubbs Hickory liquid smoke for the first time. Just to see if it makes any difference to the taste.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Morning View

What a beautiful sight!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Carer Arrived Late

Same gal as yesterday. Yet again, some carers did not come into work, so this carer is almost doing double shifts and is feeling the pressure. I managed to cheer her up a smidge after she'd sorted the medication and checks that some of them don't do, i.e. Am I wearing the wrist alarm? Have I taken any Paracetamol, Poo softeners or hardeners, had any Peptac reflux suppressant or used the Phorpain gel? ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Whoopsiedangleplop!

I fear the worst, and I need some help... No idea what to do or not to do!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Waste Bags assembled

I got the bags made up and taken to the waste chute room, and deposited.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Where should I Go?

I returned to the apartment, and I entered a semi-panic mode. The plans made earlier in the grey cells container were suddenly uncertain; I mused confusedly over which route to take regarding my upcoming mission to get some fresh pod peas. I needed to make up my mind - which is difficult enough nowadays, but it required a quick decision, or I'll miss the bus!

The original scenario was to go to Morrisons in Bulwell on the L19 bus in search of fresh pod peas... but as I said, my confidence shrunk at the thought of getting it all wrong as I did last week - missing the bus home... Mmm?  I opted to go to town, where it is certain I should find some pod peas? So, I made the decision instantly (after ten minutes of mithering and indecision). Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Went Out For The Bus

It sounds such a simple thing to say - went out for the bus, doesn't it. But anyone who knows me, nothing is simple nowadays. Let's cast our minds back over the last few days (before the memory leaves me altogether, Hehe!)

I missed the bus back from Morrisons. Ended up walking all the way into Bulwell! I went down to go out, forgot the camera, come up, fetched it and went down again. Then the fire alarm stranded me on the ground floor with the lifts not working, and I missed the bus!

I got up at 03:00hrs, and everything was sorted for a bus trip out to get shopping from Asda. Oh, no! The carer was so late, I missed the bus!

However, on this occasion, there were no Whoopsiedangleplops! That fooled yer? Hahaha!

On my way to the bus stop, I called to see ILC, Obergruppenfhüreress and Lap-Top dancer Warden Deana. Out to the shelter.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Gossiping Mode Engaged!

I love this when I can get the chance!

Had a natter with Roy, Jon, Jean, Joy and others to the bus stop. The bus was late, but that suited me down to the ground, as it meant by the time he got here, it was gone 09:30hrs, and we could all use our bus passes! Bless the driver!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Hectic Bus Ride To Town

The bus got steadily fully as we progressed. As usual, the ride was as standard for such a steep route, filled with speed bumps, uncomfortable, and it upset Harolds Haemmorhoids. I felt the warm wet sensation of the bleeding! Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

All off at Lower Parliament Street

Arthur Itis's knees had frozen a little and were rather painful. Getting off the bus, Rose asked if I was alright, bless her cotton socks.

I ambled along, and crossed over the road, and began in earnest, my mission to find some pod [eas on sale, somewhere, anywhere!

Rose had said to try the Victoria Market, so that's what I did, made a B-line into the Vic Centre.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Into the MArket

A most disappointing result (mind you, the later ones were worse!). The fruit and Veg Stall did have some Pod Peas on display!!! Unfortunately, they were there several days ago, they looked at it, as well! I was curious at the caterpillar, and some sort of worm hat appeared to be feasting on the few pods there were there; in fact, I think one was skating on the liquid coming out of some of the pods. Hehe! The aroma reminded me of when I worked at the maggot factory in Colwick. I didn't buy any, but I still had faith that Tesco would have some on sale. (Huh!)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

On To Try Tesco

And try me, they did! They did not have any pod peas on sale, nor Pork Knuckle, or any Milk Roll bread - however, they did have two items that tempted me. First, some mini new potatoes (£1.00 - 85p at Morrisons)  Then, some Sweet Mixed Baby Tomatoes, at £1.50 (Lidl's were £1.25) when I bought some last week.

 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Miffed, I left the Shopping Centre

Crossing over Milton Street, to call at the Waitrose Store, surely this time, they would have some pod peas to sell me?

But No! Another failure! Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I Left Waitrose, Purchaseless

What's going on here? Why no fresh pod peas? We are in the best three weeks of the season for them now, as well? A cunning political ploy might be played out here?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I Hobbled to the Slab Square

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Went In The Poundland Store

No pod peas, as anticipated, but I did spend rather a lot in there. Guiltily!

Crisps and snacks, many of them! Birdseed, and some pots of cream desserts.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Back over the Slab Square

And up Queen Street to the bus stop. I was in a slightly depressed mood due to my failure in my mission of the day to get some fresh pod peas. I am addicted, you know... still sod them!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Caught The 40 Bus

I was the only passenger to get on? Where were the other Nottinghamians? Buying fresh pod peas? Hahaha! The bus soon filled up en route, and we were quickly back at the flats. I was battered and bruised, mind you.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Back On Terra-firma!

I entered the building through Winchester Court and used the link passages to get back home to Woodthorpe Court.

Taking photographs on my way:

In Winchester Court's foyer door.

Next, into the lift lobby...
Unlocked the door...
Nor the wet room...
Or the front room, either?

Into the first part of the link-route

Passing the Winwood Court laundry room.

The second section of the passage.

Through the end, swipe door, into my beloved Woodthorpe Court.

Into the extraordinarily decorative and appealingly designed Woodthorpe section.

Into the Woodthorpe lift lobby.

And up to the twelfth floor. Where I did a selfie as I got out of the cage...

Then realised I had my mask on! Hehe!

And I could hear a terrible racket of clanging banging noise, as I opened the door? I went through the hallway to try and investigate what was causing the ruckus! Nothing was untoward in the hallway?

The kitchen was okay as well?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So, I got the Shirt Washed

Then realised I'd left the shopping and trolley guide out in the flat lobby. Humph!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Medicationalisationing

Poor old Harold's Haemorrhoids needed a spot of treatment again. But that Germoloid ointment is as good as any, be, better than most!

I noticed that the blotches and bruises at the top of the legs had all but gone?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got the Nosh Prepped

A can of chilli soup; drained of watery fluids, and made up some gravy. I added the smoked chilli and some liquid smoke to it, some tomato passata and a low heat on the hob in the saucepan.

I think I may have overdone the passata?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A Brew of Thompsons Punjana

I spotted the clouds out of the kitchenette window, and I saw something in them straight away. So, I took a snap of the view.

Can you see what I saw, too?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Evening Carer Came ♥

The efficient Carer came, same as this morning, and she had been working all day again! Poor Gal!.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Finished Off This Blog

It took me many hours, most of the time correcting my errors and Bloggers unwanted changes to my own formatting! Grrr! They still come out different! Grobbleknackerbangles!

Emailed the link. Had a bash at Facebooking.

Ode To The Missing Pod Peas!

My thoughts as to these mystery shortages of peas,

Bring forth confusion and circumstantiality,

Who's planning this underhand wheeze?

A money-making scheme, if they please,

There's cheating going on, duality!

What next, no bread, no cheese?

This involves money men and criminality,

Off-shore investors, and their coercivity!

They make a profit as easily as they please,

They get some themselves, so they can freeze!

But it's so cruel, hiding away my fresh pod peas!

Inchies Day - Tuesday 22nd June 2021: Graphics, Photographicalisations & the odd Ode

♥ A Trio of TFZer Cooks? Hehe! ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A Few Thoughts In Ode

I woke to feel much better physically, sacre bleu,

Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna, all easier, it's true!

But mentally, I thought the prospects to be blue,

My EQ told me something unpleasant is due!

So, I had a wee-wee, and made a brew,

What else could I do?

No females here, for me to bill and coo,

Went to the Porcelain Throne, it was overdue,,

Crosswording, it was like Deja Vous!

Didn't do very well, I attest to,

Not messy, but boy, it did phoo!

The Thought Storms were not forming a queue,

All wanting to simultaneously get through!

But, so beautiful, was the morning view,

It cheered my heart; no, it's true!

But I do so miss the tree copse walk-through!

I heard a noise, the door hole I peeped through,

I hit my head on the door; it made me phew!

Then I forgot what I was about to do...

So I washed a shirt and got myself soaked too!

Then the Health Checking, I did pursue!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yahoo!

Brilliant!

Out of the red for the first time ever! I think I might have said that already? Sorry.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got the Ablutions Done

This was an extraordinary session... well, apart from the medicationalisationing. I had a lot of bother when applying the hydrocortisone cream to Little Inchies fungal lesion; best say no more. It was very tender applying the ointment and took ages to stop the bleed!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Morning Carer Arrived

Natalie, it was, I think. She was a smidge late and told me she was all behind... I resisted any comments on that topic. Haha! She soon sorted me out and was patient enough to listen to something of other I waffled on about

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Rushed Getting Things Ready For the bus into Town

First, I made up and loaded the waste bags into the box on the trolley guide and took them to the rubbish chute.

When I returned to the flat, I heard some workmen's noise, banging and drilling from outside. I got the camera as I put it in my coat to take it with me and snapped the lads working below from the kitchen window.

I couldn't work out what they were up to. It could be the water-leak workers?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

All Ready, I started My Escape!

I went down in the lift, then through the inter-courts passageway, through to Winwood, and to the welcoming ILC's (Independent Living Coordinators)Generaloberstess, Ice skating champion Julie, and Obergruppenfhüreress and Lap-Top Dancer Deana. I dropped off some little treats, had a short natter, and off to the bus stop, to town. Took a few photos while I was enjoying a natter between Jean, Penny and Christine.

I hope the Fire Brigade or Ambulance are not needed!
Winwood & Winchester Courts
Winwood Court, frontage
Caught the bus, £2.30 bus fare, as it was two minutes too early to use the bus pass. Tsk!

We were soon battered about with the speed bumps, and all arrived safely in town.

Went in the Poundland Store

The one on Upper Parliament Street. They had many empty shelves, but it is Monday, so it was to be expected. They had closed the regular tills, only self-service ones available, presumably while the staff desperately tried to get the shelves restocked? No, hang on, it's Tuesday?

When I got to the till self-serve tills, a young lady came over, put them through for me, and even packed the bag! Bless her, I slipped her a can of vodka and lime in thanks. She was tickled pink by the gesture.

A Hobble Down Clumber Street

I took some photos en route, but many of them I thought were sad...

Boarded up shops on the left and right. This one uses to be a Burton's Tailors shop, I think.

Plenty of proper, unhappy-looking Nottinghamians milling about... I don't blame them!

The saddest of them all for me. What used to be Jessops Camera shop, long since closed down. Some yobs had smashed the windows, Nottinghamians at their best! Incidentally, I counted twelve closed down shops on this short street. Not many folks about... many drunks were spotted, pavement cyclists and Escooter dangers around. And folks throwing leering, threatening looks my way as they saw I have a camera in hand!

First time I've been down this way for over a year. The Lion Hotel was now not a hotel or pub. Adverts showing for gambling, massages, sun-beds and other nefarious activities on show. Hehehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Around The Slab Square

At the back of the Council House at the end of Clumber Street. There were five pavement cyclist in this view as I got the Canon out of my pocket, but only three left by the time I took to this photo.

A pair of legs on an Escotter, and a lady looking proper despondent. I gave her a big smile to try and cheer her up as I passed... Then realised I'd got the facemask on. Hahaha!Tsk!

I Called in the Fletcher Gate Poundland

They were the opposite to the Upper Parliament shop and had closed their self-service tills. I got some more bits, including some more drain unblocked, got served, paid, and out, back into the Slab Square.

The Slab Square had a Police Car parked in the centre of it. At the left end, a pair of drunken folks were doing no harm, but the bloke lept, falling over, its a miracle he didn't hurt himself. His partner was swigging the bottle too, but she's a friendly drunk, it seems. Not that the policemen noticed anything.

I chap on his mobile phone was giving someone grief, and no holding back. Maybe he wanted to use an Escooter? Hehe!

The Slab Square Council House had been adorned with the flag. I thought St Georges day was April 23rd? Oh, right, it just be there, for the Euro Cup?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Up To The Bus Stop

I had a job to hold onto the trolley and stop it from running down the hill for some reason. Note that my intended cutting back on spending had not really been successful, either, had it? Hehe!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Bus Ride Home...

I think I collected a few more bruises on the legs en route back to the flats.

I noticed that we now had three vehicles parked in the emergency reserved spots and on the pavement. But what choice do they have? None, I think!

I entered Winwood, said hello to the wardens as I passed, and went through the Winwood link passage.

At the far end of the walkway, I took this shot of the workers outside. They have brought in some heavier equipment now.

I got through the end door and to the elevator; I like the floor indicator on the floor; it's perfect for tripping over for folks.

I got in the cage, pressed my floor button and involuntarily passed the wind. Phwoar!

Trolley Inside, Fodder Away.

Not a lot of heavy stuff, so I managed things okay for once. Unloaded the bags...

My favourites were the cooked meats. I love a bargain. First two £1, right one £1.50!

Started Updating this Blog

Four and a half hours later, I'd reached up to here! I'm buggered!

Going to get something to eat before the evening carer calls.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Dagwood Based Meal

I made too much again, so I couldn't eat it all, but what I did gobble tasted Grrreat! I must make up some more pickled vinegar tomorrow! But, apart from the crap, tasteless potatoes, everything was enjoyed, and a taste rating of 8.5/10 given for this nosh!

New Evening Carer Arrives.

Name of Julia. A good bit late, but she was caring and patient, and we had a natter while she did the job and drugged me up. Hehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Czech Republic 0 - 1 England

The match started before Julia had left, but I didn't honestly expect them to win. But they did. Again the performance of England faded in the second half, after a great start as well. I hope but am not expecting them to do much progression-wise after this. But, you never know... Do you?

And poor old Scotland losing out to Croatia, after their great display again Englan in the last round. I felt sorry for them.

Late Getting Head Down after a long day

The highlight was that Sweet Morpheus soon had me in his grip. Thanks to the Thought Storms absence. Yippee!
