Monday 19th July 2021: Diary, Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

Sunday 18th July 2021

21:25hrs: Still, no carer arrived from Meridian Health & Social Care... Hehehe! Posted off yesterdays blog and email link.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Made a start on this template, then looked for any comments that may have come in on Blogger. Tim and Bill posted. I answered them and did my best to stay awake if a Meridian Carer might call on me. What a Twit!

I was not really expecting any Meridian Carer to arrive by the time it was 00:30hrs. Needless to say, no one came - thus, the dilemma of taking the medications myself arose. I think I took them correctly. It was a late taking of the Warfarin that concerned me. With my Vampire Angel Hristina being due in the morning or morrow, the late imbibing may affect the INR level recorded?

The last I recall making on the time was about 01:30hrs. I felt unwell with staying up for so long, and nature sent me off into sleep... but a fitful one, ever waking thinking I heard a noise and getting up to check the door... thinking a Meridian Carer might have arrived later. Nope!

Monday 19th July 2021

06:00hrs: I rose from the fretful broken nod offs. The brain filled with worries: This computer's imminent death, the Meridian Carers none show, and as expected with all the hassle, Duodenal Donald giving me hell, pain-wise.

I gulped down some of the ineffective Pentac. Took a couple of  Paracetamol but dare not take Codeine, although I might weaken later if these stabbing pains from Donald do not ease off; in case it confuses the morning carer... if Meridian Health & Social Care can manage to get me one this morning. I'll have to look into where to complain about the unreliability of Meridian Health & Social Care later on.

Mind you, as usual, I can see and understand their problems. Late, "I'm poorly" Carer callers can cause a right kerfuffle and present the enviable job of trying to get someone to cover, and so often, that the few willing to cover folks get fed up with it. The controllers get rattled with the frustration of not being able to rely on (some) staff, and the willingness to provide cover brings more complicated and complex, more frustrating anger making, all around, it seems! The mind turns!

No, I'll not moan officially. I can recall in the Security industry, like Meridian Health & Social Care, companies fail to impress and have a rebranding with the same staff that has cost them their reputation and a new name. Mission Impossible!  They are just hoping things will be better this time around.

Mini-Rant Over!

Danged reasonable figures today!

Porcelain Throne Attended

07:30hrs: Making a brew of Glengettie tea, and a call to the Throne arrived. Which I responded to without hesitation. The session was as smooth as silk, and I would have liked a moment or two to appreciate this - No pain at all! No Bleeding! Minimal effort was needed! Grrreat!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Morning Carer Arrived

As I grabbed the Sainsbury's Recycling toilet roll, the one that doesn't go down to the sewers very willingly and blocks the pipe... and the door chimes rang out! It was the Morning Carer. I called out, and faffled about cleaning things up, washed my hands and out to find the gal sorting the medications in the front room. Bless her! I hoped any 'aroma' was not too bad for her, but the look on her face said it might have been... Oh, dearie me!

After she had questioned me on what I'd taken earlier and sorted out the medications for me, I mentioned the none-appearance of the evening Carer last night. I think she understood that I may have got things wrong, but Pamela (I believe I have the name wrong. sorry, gal)  was very calm and understanding in her response. I did not show any frustration or anger as I explained things to her: it was certainly not her fault, bless her cotton socks.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Checked the Wet Room

After the competent Meridian Health & Social Care care had gone, I checked in the wet room to ensure I'd not left anything on or off when I rushed out earlier on the Carers arrival. I used the new Harpic cleaner in the bowl. I only squirted a small amount around the recess, heap deep blue!

Then made up some waste bags and put them in the box on the trolley to go later.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A Brew of Glengettie Tea
I'll try to get this one drank!

Made the mug, and I settled back on the computer... and the door chimes rang forth again! Whatever next? It was the Carer gal returning. To have a look at the stocks of medications, as they were getting low. As I kept quiet so she could concentrate, the thought that my short term memory is highly vapourisable came to mind.

Karen (I might have her name right this time, I hope) Got her details required, and she shot off with the Chemist's telephone number.

That'll be 0115 960 5453, for Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, next to the launderette and pub, near the Lidl store. With the snotty pharmacologist who made up my pill pods a few months ago, without putting any seal in the packs, and I lost the tablets as they shot out onto the floor - some have been seen again! No acknowledgement or, heaven forbid, any apology was given. They just ignored me.

Then told me the following month that I'd made a cock-up in my stocks and left me for five days without any medications. Did I mind? Yes!

Said thank you to Karen, and gave a tangential farewell, and off she went ♥.

Liberty-Global Virgin Media Went Down - Again!

Unbelievable! No, it's not!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I made a brew; surely this time, I can manage to get it drank? Well, I did!

Had a Check on Blogger Comments

Tim and Billum of Ohio saved utter embarrassment by commenting on the post. I replied to both. I thought I selected anyone can comment on Blogger options? None from Jane or Pete?

I probably got it wrong; I do that a lot!

The Landline Flashed

Answered the phone - a few seconds delay - recorded Message began: 'I am calling from your Internet Provider...' I rang Off!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Hristina Arrived...

My beloved Haematology Vampire Nurse had used the Intercom and got through to me! And, the panel let me admit her!  Pshaw! Wowee! Hecky-thump! Has the intercom been mended at last? Is it working correctly again? Am I dreaming?

I just had to go for a wee-wee, bearing in mind this was only the second one of the day; you can imagine what the bladder felt like. Hristina got in the flat, and I said, 'Sorry, be there in a minute, I just had to go'. I joined her in the main room.

She was on the balcony, looking down at the progress being made at the end of Chestnut Walk with the new car parking spaced. She was genuinely excited at the thought of having more car spaces available, bless her.

I asked her if I could take a photo of her on the balcony, with the scenery behind her. And she agreed. So, I did.

♥ There you are, the reason for the word Pulchritude being invented! Even with her face mask on! ♥ Oh, those eyes melt me! ♥

I'd not got far, and...

The Landline Flashed Again!

I picked up the mouthpiece, and I said nothing, just waited... Nobody spoke, and after about thirty seconds, they rang off. Oh, dearie me! Not sure if it was a scam now... Tsk!

On With Updating Again
The door chimes chimed. At first, I thought, ah, could this be someone from the taciturn Meridian Health & Social Care, to maybe explain things about the none-show of the carer, or even to apologise? Silly me!  It was Josie returning the tray cutlery and dish from yesterdays meal. She seemed alright in herself, cheery enough.

Going to Do the Ablutions

Hehe! From earlier visits, calls, and Accifaupas, I anticipate that I may well get interrupted part-way through. Or not, whichever.

The best session in months! Reet Good!

Getting Late Now

It won't be too long, a couple of hours maybe, before the Meridian evening carer will be calling... well, should be calling on me. I was surprised at hearing nothing from them yet, but thinking about it, no, I'm not surprised at all.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Nosh Time

It may look like a poor man's meal - that's because it is! Hehe! Only joking! I was not feeling hungry enough to risk eating anymore.

The last two pork and pickle pork pies, the last of the white pickled onions, the last of the Iceland potatoes, the last pickled egg, gherkins and a mix of tomatoes. This got me thinking - (I do that sometimes), and I added some fodder to the Wednesday delivery from J Sainsbury's. Seafood sticks, potatoes and crispy cooked bacon. I've still got some of the crap Tesco potatoes for tomorrow, a battered lump of Marmite cheese, and only a few only just out-of-date Surami sticks for lunch.

Waiting For The Carer To Call

Waiting For The Evening Carer To Call.

If indeed one is to call at all,

The brain fades, begins to stall,

Coherence mingles, I remain fearful,

Hello! I've wee-weed half a bucketful!

T'was like a mini hosepipe; that was incredible!

I've forgotten what I was going to type. Stressful!

There's one thing for which I should be grateful,

I've enough ice cream to fill a great plateful,

Maybe Twiglets too, purely complimental,

I'd better not though I've troubles dental!

Evening Carer Arrived

Made my Night!

I was sat sitting creating the ode above, and a sweet voice was heard, the evening Carer had arrived. It was the lady whose name I cannot remember, come think of it, I have troubles recalling any of them, Hehe!

After she'd done the questions and issued my medications, I told her of my concerns over no evening carer having called on me last night. (Although at the back of my muddled brain, I feared that someone had called, and I may have had a memory blank again). She said; !If it happens again, after 20:00hrs, press the wristlet alarm and let someone know at Nottingham City Homes, then they can call Meridian!" I asked Katie (but that's probably not her name), I'm Christening her my Caring Carer from now on: Why did I not think of that? I thanked her, and off she went on her rounds, bless her! ♥

A few words on last nights Euro Final

Losing the match was such a shame,

But it was a marvellous game,

England could not win within the timeframe,

A penalty game, now to start who to blame!.

No one is worthy of blame or shame!

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

I was proud of our lads; their spirits did not wane,

From Darren, Stirling to Harry Kane,

Losing must have been a pain,

But Hero Status they did gain!

Will it be 55 years before a final, again?

To me, the match was extramundane!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I used this mornings photo of the view to express how I feel after the heroic efforts of England. The daybreak was bleak, which is how I was.

But there's no way that I can feel ashamed of our team! Great effort, lads!

Monday 12th July 2021

05:30hrs: I slowly reassociated my brain to the wakefulness demanded of me... But the clinomania, as for the past three days, won the day. I hastily dropped back into a slumber...

05:50hrs: Even more reluctantly, the eyes crept open, and brain thought of the possibility of waking and getting up - Dysania Wins Again, off to kip!

06:10hrs: A smidgeon of interest was shown this time. I thought of last nights football match, started to relate to things that needed doing - then I nodded off yet again!.

06:25hrs: At this fourth attempt to fully stir back into semi-life, the need of a wee-wee helped me decide to abandon the recliner, get on my feet, and meander over the few paces to the grey, nocturnal wee-wee bucket.  The leak was of the WDFL (Weak-Sprinkling-Fountain-Like) evacuation that needed some encouragement to start flowing. But no suffering of any PM (Pre-Micturitional) or CM (Cessational Micturitional) dribbling.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ablutions tended To A Stand-up.

Too early to use the shower due to the noise of the motor and draining bothering other tenants. I was going to use the prescription toothpaste, but when I took the cap off, I realised I had to use a standard-shaped brush. I spent ages searching for one. I am sure I have several of them somewhere... but where is the mystery bit! After around twenty minutes of searching, I gave up.

As I was finishing off and getting dressed...

Morning Carer Arrived

She was in a professional mode today. Soon had me sorted, managing to have a mini-natter as she finished the job off. ♥

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Industrious Activity Yes!

I got the waste bags made up and onto the box to go to the chute later in the day.

Had another wee-wee... Can we take it that I wee-wee'd approximately every half hour throughout the day?

Then, got the kettle on and had another wee-wee.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I Started To Prep the Fodder

Small potatoes into the crock-pot.

Peas podded, with the loss of only two escapee peas. May never see them again.

Still, the evacuation was one of the easiest in months or even longer. The recycled toilet paper was still reluctant to go down!

Started on This Blog

Began with making the Ode

I spent many hours getting nowhere fast after that. For the attacks from my beloved, but painful  Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley started. She was very persistent as well! Along with the persistent multiple wee-wees, they proved to an annoying trait that I could have done without!

I battled bravely away. And, when I'd had enough frustrationalisationing, I went to make a brew and check on the potatoes and peas.

Well, blow me, what did I see upon the kitchen floor? I got the camera.

Is it? Can it be?

Yes! It was one of the missing peas! Probably edging its way to a hidey-hole? Haha!
My EQ warned me that substitutes and out of stock products will be rife on Thursday... no,  on Wednesday 14th when this arrives.
Of course, this didn't bother me... much!

Back onto the Computer

Well, that was the plan, anyway. But I see that Liberty-Global, who owns Virgin Media, had other ideas, and the internet went down!

I Got My Nosh Prepped & Served Up

Orange & red tomatoes, fresh garden peas, gherkins, new potatoes, German smoked ham, silverskin onions and pickled shallot.

Not too much. I kept myself under semi-control on this one, sizewise, I thought.

I ate it all up and wished I had not kept myself under control sizewise. Hahaha!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Settled Down For A Snooze

Well, that was the idea. The Thought Storms that were brewing erupted. My brain was tested too much for any proper kipping to be achieved.

After an hour, at long last, it seemed I was about to clear the head and drift off...

The Door Chimes Rang Out

The evening Carer Arrived, the same gal as this morning. Turns out that carers had not come in again, so the calls had to be shared amongst the loyal few again! Poor Gal! She'd done 13-hours already today! I thought earlier that she was a little stressed. ♥ She's a trooper! ♥ Soon had me done. She was a smidge happier now.

Monday 28th June: Diary, graphics, photographicalisations, and the odd ode.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Good Morning!

Morning Thoughts

In terrible Rhyme

Finding the will to get up was a bit of a fight,

Catching my balance was a fright,

I'd got the shakes and wobbles, alright!

Felt an itch. Have I got a parasite?

From worrying there is no respite,

Still, today, I hope for some delight,

But of course, the chances are finite,

Another night with no moonlight,

I should be cheerful, with hindsight,

But there's not much of that insight,

Passing on the Throne is quite tight,

More dangerous than dynamite!

Stirred Back to Imitation Life...

0515hrs: Woke up, fought off the desire to go back to sleep (It wasn't easy!)

Finally, caught my balance after struggling to free my bolus-shaped belly from the second-hand, £300, second-hand recliner.

I nearly went over. (Phew!)

Got the spuds in the crockpot...

These Iceland potatoes are famous this season for their blight, cracked skin, and selection of funny faces. Hehehe!

I investigated what seasonings were available to add to the spud in the bowl.

There were indeed no shortages of options. I went for a drop of liquid smoke and some roast chilli. I'm not sure why cause one cannot taste them after they are cooked? Or is it just me?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Looking a little glum outside

Got the kettle on and took these shots of the rather drab looking morning views from the thick-framed kitchenette window.

Made a brew of Glengettie... and the need to use the Porcelain Throne arrived... However, it turned out to be a false alarm?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tackled the Health Checks

And what an absolute super-duper set of figures were recorded!

Blood pressure down to Pre-High for only the second time ever! Into Smug Mode.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Porcelain Throne Second Visit

When I'd got settled on the raised seat, I could sense this time; things would move - but it was a long, patient, crossword puzzling time before any activity matured. Tsk!

At least I did a bit better with the crossword puzzle this time while I spent ten minutes awaiting some activity from the rear end...

Once the evacuation began, so did the pain. Arghh! Well, it was nearer agony!

Insult to injury, it was a right and proper messy affair. Requiring much cleaning up and medicationalisationing!

Yes, the Germoloids for Harold's Haemorrhoids, that was okay, no bother...

The Phorpain gel, nae fuss.

But the Daktacort, Oh, dearie me! Little Inchie wasn't too pleased either. Ugh!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Computerisationing

And what a farce. I'd forgotten how to do some things, made a mess of changing the default page, Blogger kept changing my formatting all the time, and I can't find one of my SD cards! I gave up because I was not getting much done and working myself up over my failures.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Waiting For The Carer To Arrive

If the carer comes early enough, I'll try to get the ablutions done quickly, then catch the bus or walk down to Sherwood... Ah, No! Soddit! I've got the can opener being delivered today from Amazon. Huh, stuck indoors again!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Carer has not arrived Yet?

Oh, dearie me!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Computer off - Waste Bags Collated

The box on the trolley is now getting full, and there are more to add later.

Whoopsiedangleplop

I thought being active would calm the ticker down; it seemed to be racing away with my not having taken the Bisoprolol (Beta-Blocker) yet.

So, I set to and got the kitchen floor swept and mopped up. Not too bad a job was done...

However, partway through the job of sweeping and mopping, I had a zemblanity Accifauxpas!

The base of the long-handled dustpan, bent as I leant on it, and is now broken, and the handle bent. Tsk! I squashed the waste bags down in the box on the trolley and got the broken plastic and distorted handle crammed in it.

This idea of cleaning up was beginning to get a smidge dangerous. Hehe!

Sister Jane rang as I was finishing off the mopping. So we had a natter until her Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G, Qualcomm® SM7225 Snapdragon 750G 5G mobile phone with its Quad Camera, and 24GB RAM mobile lost its signal.

Jane rang back, and we resumed the three-way conversation with Xyrophobia sufferer hubby PetePete joining in. Until Jane heard a knocking noise and thought it might be the carer at the door, so we parted. Ending our chinwag rather abruptly.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

09:10 Hrs: Approx

Still, no Carer arrived. So I got on with a lousy stand-up wash, cleaning teggies, shaving and medicationalisationing session. Then I got the made in Pakistan long-sleeved blue checked thick shirt hand-washed.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Made Inquiries about the Carers absence

First, I thought I'd ask Deana what I would do under the circumstances I'm in. The call was diverted. So mayhaps ILC (Independent Living Coordinator), Obergruppenfhüreress and Lap-Top Dancer Deana, is away on holiday. Or perhaps at a big meeting? Maybe she has been sent to another complex elsewhere as absent staff cover?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So, I called Meridian

A cheery voice, almost singing, replied, "♫ Yes, we're running a little late!♫ I'll call her... (the rest not heard). Ah, well!

Got the things to put ready to use.

 - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Cleaned the Electric Fire Area

I got down on my knees with the bucket of soap and cloths and gave it a good scrubbing and was pleased with the result.

However, the joy was short-lived.

The job of getting back up onto my feet was a mammoth, painful, nae, excruciating task. That took me a long time and many failed efforts!

Which brought on a Smug-Mode, when I eventually got up. Hehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Aha! Carer Natalie arrived! ♥

11:00hrs: Lovely to see her! She apologised for being so late and got the med's sorted quickly,  so I got my belated Beta-blocker.

I'm sure it was not her fault. We managed a natter while she did her thing, and she left with a thank you gift, in good spirits.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Minutes Later, Nurse Hristina Arrived ♥

By gum, I'm doing well for pulchritude here today! Hristina was pleased that the builders were making more car parking spaces. Bless her, she has struggled again today to get parked up! We had a chinwag while she took my blood sample. Which made my day!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Minutes Later the Amazon Delivery came

The Box. The Carton. The blood!

I'll need some help in setting this one up.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Did Some Updating

Feeling a little drained now. So, I'll get something to eat, then sit down in hope of getting snooze in.

Smashing chicken chilli meal.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Marvellous, I nodded off watching the Croatia v Spain Euro Match!

I woke up with a jump and desperate need of a wee-wee around 18:40hrs, and I lunged for the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket), and as the flow shot out like from a hose pipe...in came the evening carer, Carol.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Embarrassment Par De Excellence!

The carer pulled back from the doorway... but I'm sure I heard laughter? Hehehe! I'm only joking! The gal was amazed at how late the morning visit was. We managed a mini-natter while she did the medicationing.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Computer Back On

I washed the pots and got on with updating this post. And got it posted off to blogger.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Evening Ode Sorry about this!

Head down at long last,

Full, content after my repast,

Today has been a turmoil blast,

A wonder I didn't need a plaster cast!

The errors, mistakes were all vast,

On the Porcelain Throne, I was nearly gassed!

The stomach has acquired even more ballast,

Today's Whoopsiedangleplops, can't be surpassed!

Hello, my past life just shot past?
