Morning!

Morning Actions & Thoughts

I rose very late, not in a good mental state,

Ablutions all done, for the Carer, I did wait,

Not knowing my coming fate...

That my senses did abirritate,

Pain, it did accentuate,

Making my concentration vacate,

I stubbed my toe, mate!

- - - - - - - - - -

Computerisationing, I did pursue,

But the ailments made me feel blue,

Dropsies and errors, more than a few,

Carer came, on time, not overdue,

Sorted medications, the Warfarins were blue,

Yellow, white, capsules, creams & eye drops too!

Health Checks

Another decent set of results, which was nice.

- - - - - - - - - -

Prepared for the trip to town

Made up waste bags and got them to the chute. I checked, double-checked I had everything needed back to the flat and left safely in the flat. So off out, called in to see Deana, the not the bus stop.

- - - - - - - - - -

Off to the bus stop

Called in to see the Wardens, Deana & Julie. Then to the bus stop. Jean, Penny & others chinwagging session got on the bus and were taken to Nottingham City Centre in no time.

En route, I had a go at the crossword book with help from some of the passengers. But the bus soon filled up. It was then that the nagging feeling that I'd forgot to take something with me matured. I dwelt and pondered for ages;

  • I'd got the keys and fob, check!
  • The cash and bus cards - Check!
  • Shopping list, Yes!
  • The watch, Alert bands on wrists, yes!
  • The camera in my pocket - Check!
  • Money. Yep!
Well, maybe my EQ had got it wrong for the first time? The doubts nagged on!

- - - - - - - - - -

Off the bus - to Wilko

I was in decent form when I started shopping. I collected together the following items: Bleach, Liquid soap flakes, Ylang & Freesia granules, Zoflora lemon disinfectant, Smarties and a bar of chocolate. At the checkout, and I had a funny turn at the till. Part Nicodemus's Neurotransmitters failing, and Dizzy Dennis.

The girl serving was very patient with me, when as usual, Stuttering Stephanie joined in. Paid the £14.20 bill, I thanked the lady, apologised to the woman who'd been kept waiting, and shuffled out of the store.

Whoopsiedangleplop!

I thought it would be a good idea to take a photo of the store, to use when I mention this in the diary... Grunglebogknickers

I took the photo, along with several more of Upper Parliament Street folks and shops... Pickleglobknobs! I found out that I'd left the SD card back on the computer at home!!! Boy, was I pissed off, irritated and annoyed with myself! So much so, I decided to go to Jessops and buy a new one!

- - - - - - - - - -

A Costly Decision

As I was walking to the Jessop shop, Hazy Henry came at me. I got in the store elevator and went to the wrong floor, got out, realised, and waited for another to get up to the third floor. Fortunately, the camera department was straight opposite me, and a few limping paces later, and I was being ignored by the only assistant I could find.

He shot off, leaving me to peruse the new cameras on display, which I did, but could not afford. Then I cunningly moved out of his sight and pushed the trolley backwards and cornered the lad, met him face to face - although my face was nearly his knees; he was a big lad! Hehe!

I asked if they sold SDH cards suitable for my Canon camera and showed the Canon to him. For a moment, he looked, almost admiringly at it, as if it was an antique, I think? "Possibly?" he said and went off to check if they had any old cards in stock. Humph!

He returned with a card that had a tiny extra one in the pack with the usual one? Again, he bamboozled me; it seems the small one has to go inside the bigger one. I mumbled about my lack of dexterity, asked him if he could 'set it up for me, and take a photo to make sure it was compatible with my old camera. Verbally he agreed pleasantly enough, but his body language showed his displeasure as well.

He had a gleam in his eyes when he told me they only had the more expensive ones in stock. A slight grin spread across his face, indicated by the creased facemask! I was just glad they had one in stock. He fitted it for me, took a picture in the store, and showed it to me...

Then, he got on with his more pleasurable activities and told me how much it would cost me... £32.99! Craggnangles!

- - - - - - - - - -

Dazed, I paid and left...

Continuing the day's trait of not much going right, I go out of the lift on the wrong floor! Getting all tensed up now! Back in and to the ground floor.

I'm going to make a separate blog of the walkabout I had in town. All these and many other pictures will be put in it.

I went to the Poundland shop, then to the Slab Square. The secret unknown event in the Slab Square reported in the YourArea magazine...

Whatever it was, it had produced a police presence the likes have never seen before?

I got back to Queen Street, and I caught the 40 bus back to the flats. Having a natter en route with some of the tenants on board.

- - - - - - - - - -

Rubbish Spotted!

Would any Nottinghamians like a guess at where this was in the City Centre? Just for a bit of fun, like. I bet many do know where it is!

To the Flats...

Into the lift...

Out of the lift.

I got the purchasers stored away, the kettle on the boil, and made up the Olive oil dropper bottles. Using the new funnel that I amazingly remembered to buy at Wilko!

- - - - - - - - - -

Got on with the photograph sorting and updating this blog up to here. Then made up an extra one - A Hobble around the City Centre! - and posted it off.

- - - - - - - - - -

Lost it a bit here!

The old logic and concentration departments mingled and merged with malignant memory cells... just to make things more interesting, Pestilential Peripheral Pete joined in!

I went into a haze, thank God these do not happen very often, and I lost an hour or so of memory, finding I had made an order for Iceland. To arrive Tuesday 16th, twixt six and eight am. I found the details stored on my Google calendar - but had no memories of writing this down. Hey-Ho!

- - - - - - - - - -

The Evening Carer Arrived

Once again, he offered me the medication pot, with only one Warfarin in it! Not the 2½ as on the dosage instructions.

I had to go through the routine of showing him the DVT Anticoagulation slip and explaining things to him again.

Had this occurred while I had an 'Out-of-it' moment, like earlier, I would have just accepted the tablets as being correct and not noticed! Worrying!

Into Sherlock Holmesian Mode

But, I think I've discovered wording in the Carers Guide paperwork that may just be causing this problem? Not that it matters, cause they are finishing calling on Sunday night when Meridian will take over.

On second thoughts, this should not confuse anyone. It does say 'follow INR card'. But also INR in the PM box may be read as 1NR?

- - - - - - - - - -

I returned to normality brain-wise...

Although being in any standard or acceptable state is an impossibility for me. Hehe!

I made up a snack come meal, of buttered soft pitta bread, cooked smoked pork shoulder, and tomatoes. Unfortunately, there were more gone-off and mouldy ones than eatable in the Morrisons, Piccalo tomato box. To round off the miserable meal, the Morrison cooked pork shoulder was absolutely tasteless! No taste rating!

- - - - - - - - - -

I watched some of the Turkey v Italy Euro Cup match. Fell asleep at half-time. I looked up the final score; it was 3-0 to the Italianos. I did notice a score in the World Cup qualifying matches; Cambodia 0 - Iran 10. In 2018, Iran playing at home; they won 14-0.

Nocturnal Ode of Advice

For the senility seekers!

Whatever you do, Keep Calm,

Chilli-Con Carne burnt? Press the fire alarm,

Broke a jar of honey? Watch for the bee swarm!

Can't cope with or afford a holiday to Vietnam?

Then take it to yobbo-ridden Nottingham,

But, whatever you do, Keep Calm,

Keep taking your Warfarin, Viagra and Viroxalm,

Your carers must be shown genuine charm,

No swearing at them or giving verbal harm,

You must keep calm,

Or you'll end up at the Funny Farm!.

Inchie wrote this after taking his morning medications and spending over an hour on his Porcelain Throne. It was a long job!

A Hobble Around Nottingham City Centre - Pictorially

 Friday 11th June 2021

Wilko, the Poundland. Left the camera card on the computer, so went to Victora Centre and bought a new one - How much was it? Please do to ask; I can't believe how much I stupidly paid!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Out onto Upper Parliament Street.

Seeing many maskless Nottinghamian's about today. Burger King closed down...

Pavement Cyclists and E-scooters all over the place, and few attractive females, Tsk! All far too young for me. Grumph!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Further along Parliament Street.

Down King and Queen Street.

E-Scooters were galore!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Slab Square.

Got the trolley stuck in a rut. Haha!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

E-Scooter station aplenty

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Buses and Trams.

Even spotted an Ossifer of the Law out and about? A Gobsmacking observation!

These were within feet of the number 40 bus stop. But where? Haha!

Queen Street bus stop, at the end of my one hour tour of Nottingham.

Some people go abroad for weeks, you know. Of course, I'm not jealous. Oh, No!

Had to rush back to the flat cause the Carer is coming to dose me up. Next week a female Carer is coming - I'm not sure whether to be hopeful or scared stiff!

A Few Thoughts in Ode (Of sorts)

A trip to town is extracurricular,

Even when pushing some vehicular,

Too tyring to get nothing in particular,

Getting the trolley stuck, you feel the fool you are,

Hoping that some will prove adminicular,

It all felt so very unfamiliar,

And I felt ever sillier,

Bashed my elbow on the handlebar,

By the time I'd freed it, I was somnambular,

I'll not be keen from now on to be a rambler,

I'll stick ar being a superior bumbler!

Inchies Morning Thoughts in Ryme

I woke, the thoughts wouldn't stop nor go away,

This irked, annoyed and fired up my aortae,

They stormed around the brain in disarray,

Could I build in the flat, my own distillery?

Ones involving guilt were the mainstay,

Would I ever be free of them today?

Got up for a wee-wee, with lots of overspray!

More cleaning up to be done today...

Like every day, t'was handwashing day,

Oh, lackaday!

Health Checks Completed

Great return figures today. The Blood Pressure was nearly in the Amber on the NHS assessment results! Grrreat! SYS, the temperature and pulse all well down as well!

Busy Inchie...

I then got the potatoes into the crockpot, seasoned with just onion salt. Then got the stand-up ablutions done.

I was chuffed with how the feet and ankles looked this morning. Wait until I get out from the flat onto them again, Hehehe!

Photographicalisationings!

I ventured out onto the balcony, and I struggled a bit to get the windows open for the first three pictures above. Closing them was easy enough, though. It was a warm but sunless morning. The photos taken on the Canon camera came out okayish, I think. I hope it was easier to take them today, with Nicodemus's Neurotransmitters behaving much better.
