Good Morning...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

♥ TFZers, in their new Cabin-Gym, Bar. Hehehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I stirred and off to the Porcelain Throne,

Gooey, messy, things stunk a lot too!

Took a while to clean up, I had a moan,

Soon the evacuation through,

Then I moved into the showering zone,

Took one step, and pain brought a groan,

Stubbed my toe again, dabbed it with fluticasone,

Yes, to Accifauxpas, I am somewhat prone!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tended to the Health Checks again,

The results a bit of a pain,

BP was higher, for certain,

Am I facing my final curtain?

Maybe immortality, I'll attain?

First, my sanity, I must try to regain?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Liberty-Global Virgin Media Internet - Humph!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Iceland coming early today, twixt 0600 > 0700hrs. So I'd better get the ablutions done, a stand-up job, of course, too early to use the noisy shower yet.

Red-faced with the wall heater on, I cut my ear-hole shaving, lost count of all the dropsies; toothbrush (twice), razors (too many to count), Flannels, soap, and even the flaming towel afterwards! However, I did manage to avoid stubbing any of my toes again. Smug-Mode-Engaged! Hehehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I got the potatoes in the crockpot and seasoned them with Chinese Salt & Chilli.

Then, made a brew, took the medications, and got on with updating the Thursday diary.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Iceland delivery arrived good and early; the driver was a pleasant chap, too.

The chap brought in the five bags into the hallway for me. Much appreciated; thank you, Mr Driver. The intercom wasn't working again. He'd had to get Nottingham City Homes control to let him in, and it took a long time; thus, the ice-cream suckers were almost liquid by the time he'd got it to me. I mentioned to him about Jenny's farce last week. I insisted he took a can of his choice in thanks for his help.

I got the near thawed out frozen stuff into the freezer as fast as I could. All of it was ice cream sticks of varying flavours, so they should be eatable, even if a little misshaped. I got it all in, a little soft, mind. Haha!
Please note that the fridge was nowhere near as full as it usually is after a delivery? All due to my newly adopted plan to get some of the canned food used up before I croak out.
And they say that Vascular Dementia is not fightable. Just watch me go! I might regret saying that late on, Hahaha!

The washing up liquid had burst open in the other bags, covering the roll of waste bags, a packet of biscuits, and a bar of orange flavoured Galaxy! Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Another of the mysteries of Winwood Heights, the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions and other grotesqueries haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchcock, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare, worry, harass, and confuse me!

I did some computerisationing and hobbled into the kitchenette to make another brew of Glengettie. I left Metal Micky on his three stumps, got the kettle filled, and as I was about to grab him, he fell over? Right in front of me, and quickly too, as if a ghost or wind had pushed home over? I sensed no draughts or wind around that could have caused this?

Bleak weather this evening.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Whoopsiedangleplop

Got the nosh sorted out and served up. But Nicodemus's neurotransmitters and Dizzy Dennis attacked me at the same time. This was not good!

After several spillages and dropsies, I got one of the plastic portion plates and used that; it was much safer for me.

I'm glad I did; this dish saved a few mishaps as I consumed the fodder. A worthy 9/10 for the Flavour-Rating... but after-nosh nibbling was guiltily performed... Oh, dear!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The worst getting to sleep effort of the week. Thought Storming, regular nod-offs though, but it felt like I was waking up every few minutes repeatedly, and the thoughts returned...

Grobbleknackercraps!

 Inchies Day

Thursday 20th May 2021

Hardships will arrive, later in life,

Of course, you can have these, anytime,

Bringing trouble and strife,

A pathogenic bacterial organism, a microzyme,

Maybe there could be an afterlife,

Perhaps death will be sublime?

At least I don't have to worry about a wife,

After all, I've lived a nonlife,

But, I usually cheer up in Maytime,

Not now though, I'm miserable, but that's not a crime.

Our Wonderful Blue Skies!

Really early in the day, the blue clouds were looking like artwork.

A few hours later, the blue was joined by some reds and a smattering of yellow.

The Fighting Temeraire, which Joseph Mallord William Turner painted in 1838, came to mind while I was amazed at the sky's beauty.

The Cloud Appreciation Society members should have been here with me. Later on, the light dawning, they were so vivid that I wanted to reach up and touch them... but I didn't, of course. Hehe!

I have these moments of cloud-loving now and then. On a bad day, I may not even notice them, but today, I am currently in fine spirits with Arthur, Cathy and Anne Gyna are all being kind to me... in fact, I was feeling sprightly... well, almost!

Health Checks

Two days results in the Green!
Never before has this been seen!
Contentment, I detect and glean,
Even if life is not precisely apogean!

As I was getting a bag made up to take to Jen ♥, Nora ♥ and Frank, the telephone rang. Knackwrangles!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

♥ Jenny called on the Landline ♥

I thought it was the con-caller trying his Nigerian or Lithuanian luck again. Gladly it was Jenny on the line. We had a little natter, and she said she had a China type mug I could have and would bring it up to me, bless her. I mentioned that I was coming down anyway in a while, so she said she would leave the mug outside in the hallway with money to pay for the tissues in the bag. We spoke of the annoying con-calls on the landline and told me there was no cause to get excited, just ring off. She's perfectly correct, of course, but getting up to answer the phone can be painful, then the getting back down again the same, thanks to Arthur Itis and Cartilage Cathy.

I gathered the bag for Jen and put it on the handlebar and loads of waste in the box on the walker trolley.

It was a work of art getting it out of the doorway, (By work of art, I mean farcical struggle, Haha!) I wobbled my way, somewhat precariously to the waste chute room, and deposited the bags, not Jenny's, of course. Although it was a close thing, I managed to stop myself in time - Humph!

I got to the lift (elevator) and keen alert. as usual, I spotted this sign on the right-hand side lift doors

The Elevator Farcicalness!

Getting the one lift down was not going to be a straightforward job. The elevator cage passed me by several times. Eventually, It did stop, and a lady who was in it, from a floor above, was most distressed; she been waiting for ages and had the same thing with the cage passing her by many times, bless her. And, I had to go down with her, then back up again. It's all fun at Winwood Courts, I can tell yers. Especially at Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, and ghosts. Plus, the grotesque ectoplasms, succubae, extraterrestrials, or the Fata Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind to the ultimate limit?

I got lost there, where was I? Oh, yes!... I got to Jen's apartment, and the bag with the mug and money in it was outside her door. I swapped it for the goody bag, knocked on the door, rang the bell, and hobbled back to the lifts... well, lift at it is at the moment. But again, it passed me by several times, but I got back up much quicker than I got down, at least. Hehehe!

I got in the door, and I made a brew of Glengettie, using Jenny's donated mug. She'd put a note on the bag saying it was the best she could do for me, but knew it wasn't a good China mug, bless her cotton socks. I indulged in the brew. And updated this template.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I tried to get some Graphics made up. But the fatigue that had been missing this morning had now arrived with a vengeance, this afternoon. I was suddenly done in, drained and feeling so weary. Shame that! I'd better get something to eat, methinks.

This was not one of the tastiest of meals at all...

The so-claimed Pork Farms Pork Pie was of a different recipe - I suppose they have changed it now, so, no more for me. It tasted horrible, and after one bite, the pieces were all dispatched to the waste bin! And, the so-called Jersey new potatoes from the Co-op were almost foul-tasting, Eurgh! Many of them were not eaten, not good!

The sausages, Surami sticks and tomatoes were fine! Taste-rating: 6.2/10.

Sweet Morpheus was delayed by the Thought Storms again. They were fast, furious and fermented further fearful thoughts... for what seemed like hours... Gragnangles!

Vascular Dementia, I will resist!

TFZers gather for their ice cream?

03:00hrs I woke, worried and stirred awake,
The Vaccinationing went better, no mistake,
Apart from a little annoying earache...
No pains, stinging, not even a shake!
Mind you, dozens of wee-wees today, I had to take!
I think I took two Furosemides, the wee looks opaque?
I'd better watch my fluid intake,
The Thought-Storms didn't give me a break,
The wind I was passing was like a microearthquake,
Care and attention I'll have to partake...
To signs of Porcelain Throne needs, for heaven's sake,
No signs yet of any tummyache... Hello, toothache!
Will today from hassles, give me a break?

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I just had to take this picture to show you!

THE FACE IN THE HEEL OF MY RIGHT FOOT!

I drew in the eyes and lip on CorelDraw in case you could not see the face in the heel. Surely, one for the Tate Gallery? Hehehe!

So, on with the health checks...

Grrreat! All in the green again!

WHOOPSIEDANGLEPLOP

I got ready to go to Sherwood to get some spuds, sausages etc. Keys, card, camera collected. Made sure I was dressed properly for the nippy cold Sun that was shining, but not fooling me! Hehe! Called in to see Deana and Julie. A chinwag at the bus stop. I was feeling good, all content like.

Got to Sherwood and visited three stores, but not with much success. To the Ozan shop, I got three of the six things I wanted. Then up to the Co-op. Huh! No garden peas, no cream cakes, and no decent potatoes!

I got some cakes from the Birds store. I like to try and get a couple of cakes each Monday or Tuesday for the ILC's Deana and Jackie, as a thank you.

Wilko had no bleach, but I did get some Zoflora lemon concentrated disinfectants, two large bottles.

I'd taken many photographs en route, and at the bus stop, I took the last one in Sherwood - Oh, dearie me! I'd done it again... I'd left the SD card on the computer back at the flat! Grrr!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Somewhat miffed with myself, I dropped the cakes off, back to the flat, and got ready to go out again, to town this time. Hoping for a better shopping experience this time! I made sure, belatedly, I know... that the camera had the card in it; and was determined to get some photographicalisationing done in the City Centre! Humph!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I got outside to the bus stop, taking these photos en route. The first one shows Winwood and Woodthorpe Courts, the right one of Winchester Court, and the bottom one, the view from the bus stop. I was pleased with these and that the shaking hand and arm allowed me to too!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A decent natter again, oh, I do love meandering gossip! Got the bus and was soon in the City Centre. Although the first port of call at the Poundland Shop was a waste of time and frustrating. I'll explain... I bought some items; they had no cooked ham, drain unblockers, Jacob's mini-cheese biscuits, or Fresh air sprays... the serve you till had broken, so there were only the self-serve ones to use... I joined the queue.

The red light and recorded voice started. I waited for assistance as instructed, but the girl doing the helping was overloaded with jobs from other tills, and after ten minutes or so, I just left the shop. Purchaseless!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I set off with the camera to hand, and I walked to the Poundland Shop on Fletcher Gate, taking these snaps en route...

Leaving the Upper Parliament Street Shop

South Parade, the sky looking threatening

South Parade - This lorry frit me! Hehe!

South Parade still, Cyclist galore!

Pavement food cyclist, using his mobile, nearly ran into the tree!

Long Row, short skirt weather?

Slab Square

Nottinghamians at work

Fletcher Gate, eScotter, bike near pedestrian crossing... Humph!

I got into the shop and came out with rather a lot of buys! They had some things in that the other store didn't, so I grabbed some. Drain unblocked, Dettol, Bread rolls, pork pie, mini cheddars, French fries and Quavers. The trolley was well overloaded, making the journey home dodgy, challenging, and tiring. (Poor old thing, Haha!)

I had to be careful getting home!

Not a single person in the Square who was not on their phones, drinking, or eating.

At the bus stop on Queen Street.
The journey home was fraught with dangers. A p[oor chap was talking to me, and I could not understand what he was saying, but his nature was at times threatening, kept mentioning having Tourettes, poor lad. That and the strain on trying to hold onto the trolley and bags as they swayed about. And having to move to let a lady and her baby get in with her trolley and toddler took it out of me for some reason. A lovely little gal, well cared for by Mum.

Chrissie from the flats got on, and we managed a conversation of sorts. Sign language and masks pulled down for lip-reading. We both hobbled, with Chrissie stopping to let me catch up a couple of times, and ended up in the lift, offering farewells as I got off on the twelfth floor, and Chrissie went up one to her flat on the thirteenth.

Back in the flat...

The DVT Warfarin results and dosages for the week had been delivered. The same as last week, yet the level was still at five? Ah, well!

Got in and put the purchases away.

I got the foods from the crock-pot into the saucepan and started it warming up. Then a mug of tea seemed a good idea to me...

ACCIFAUXPAS!

Hell, and Grobbledonks!

Nicodemus's neurotransmitters let me down as I was getting the Jenny donated to me, Bless Her, China mug from the hook... I was dumbfounded and instantly depressed! This was, without a doubt, the best-tasting tea vessel I have ever had... Well, that the end of my enjoying a brew. I could have cried; in fact, I think I did!

I got the strained Chilli soup, tons of leeks, potatoes and gravy added to the mix in the dish. 8.5/10 rating!

Got up to wash the dishes...

Whoopsidangleplop

Stubbed my Toe! Argh!

But it ended with another smile. As I got down into the c1968 recliner, I visualised a face again in the tight foot's heel. In the morning, I touched it up to have another laugh at... Hahaha!

A busy day... with plenty of cock-ups, errors, Accifauxpas, memory blanks, and Whoopsiedangleplops!

Not felt as happy as this, since 2011

Yet, I think I enjoyed it?

Apart from breaking the China Mug! Sob!
