Monday 6th September 2021: Inchies Day, and sometimes the odd ode might slip in!

About to Do A Runner in the TFZer Pool Car?

MONDAY 6th SEPTEMBER 2021

After another few resistant-refusals to move after waking several times, at 04:20hrs, I accepted the inevitable. I activated the brain cells (in a fashion) and rose from the c1968 recliner!

Had a natter with Teddy and Koala. And why, not! You're jealous?

Got some waste bags made up and put them in the box in the hallway to go to the chute after 08:00hrs. It'll no doubt have grown in number by then.

Then did a hopeful but failed search for the Comfort Conditioners that went missing after the declutterers visit to pretend to clear and clean up the flat.

Tittivated The Front Room

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yet another decent set of figures!

Cuppa, Computer on

Made a start on this blogs template and made a right mess of it, and I did! A brew of 99 tea and booted the computer. Replied to two comments first, from my faithful cuber-friends Tim (New Mexico) and Bill (Ohio).

Wrong dates on the graphic and main text page. I uploaded the wrong photographs, misspellings galore, no end of forgotten words! I even opened the incorrect folder and thought I'd lost the pictures! (Went into a bit of a self-loathing and panic mode then) It took me ages to work out what I'd done. Sad? Yes!

Email From Iceland

Just look at the state of the shortages and substitutions on this flipping Iceland order!

The dang nice-smelling fabric softener was out of stock. (Which brought more bile to my gullet, thinking of the declutterers stealing the two bottles I had, and now I can't get any more, it seems?) They substituted a crap so-called 'Sky?' bottle. I wanted to return it but had no softener left after the visit of the declutters! Grrr! So I had to keep it, or I'd have none at all.

I was a little irritated when I read this email. Still, it's only to be expected, with my luck... Double Grrr!

Pressed on with Blogging

Gawd! It was a slow process! Actual hard work today. Poor old thing!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Morning Carer Arrived

It was Valerie today. She came as I was making a mug of tea. Got the medications sorted and gave me a little chinwag, for the first time initiated by her lovely self. She's mayhaps taking to me? We even managed a laugh today, bless her cotton socks! I had to insist she took one of the carers nibbles or drinks as she left.

Morrison Order Made

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Porcelain Throne Visit

Oh, Yes! Cushty! Apart from a bit of bleeding from Little Inchies fungal lesion, the session went well!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Iceland Man Commeth"

At least I got the BBQ microwave burgers delivered. Got the things put away. There was not a lot of it. This delivery was a bit different: A new man who obviously had not called before.

He phoned to say he was outside, and how do I get in? But my hearing wasn't too good, and I was missing other things he was saying. I told him I'd come down to him, which I did. Showed him the ring panel and how to use it, then we got up to the flat, and he deposited the bags through the door. Off he trotted.

New End Car Park Checked

Oh, dear, even last Monday four vehicles were using it. Not Today!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

More Waste Bags Made Up

I seem to be making an awful lot of waste nowadays, well, just lately.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ablutionalisationing Session!

It could take a while this!

With Shuddering Shoulder Shirley kicking off, supported by Nicodemus's Neurotransmitters fading in and out, I must take extra care in shaving this morning. And, I will! I'll wash the shirt I'm taking off first.

Well, here goes!

WHOOPSIEDANGLEPLOP Grade One!

There is no cold water coming from the faucet (tap)! Am I lucky or what?

I checked in the wet room, same thing!

I tried phoning both wardens, just to ask if they knew about, or had reported it - No answers.

I rang Jenny, if anyone knows whats what, she will. Electricians have cut through some pipes, cutting the power to the water pumps!

Afterwards, I realised I had the Morrison order being delivered within an hour... I rally am getting fed-up with my luck! Jenny said it might be back on before they arrive? With my luck? But maybe... No... no, no!

Jen called back. Men are looking at the repair job now. The lifts and lights are down too. Grobbleackers!

The Amazon Shopper will not be expected to carry all the bags up 24 flights of stairs - what can I do? Pissed-off!

You see, when I started using this phrase, I bet you all thought I was joking?

"The mysteries of Winwood Heights, the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions and other grotesqueries haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchie, to create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. Worry and confuse this poor beleagued, Vascular Dementia ridden, deaf old man!"

But its all true! Hehehe!

Unwashed, I had to put on fresh trousers and shirt, cause I'd wetted those I took off, which means more hand-washing for me to find time to get done!

When the delivery arrives, will the intercom be working?

Will I even be able to hear what he's saying? (As it turns out, No!)

How do I get down 24 flights of stairs to talk to him?

Will he wait, anyway? It'll either kill me, or I'd die of old age before I get down to the ground floor!

I might be able to get down, if the man can wait, and put the non perishables in the lock-up cupboard? Carry the fresh stuff up back to the flat? Brave, but stupid thinking there from me.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Depressed-Morbid-Morose!

Waiting now, mug of tea, phone to hand, and listening in hopes of hearing the pathetically weak buzz from the intercom, with tears forming. Hehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Template Work

Took some bags to the box, and settled to get some work done on tomorrows template for Inchies Day.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Door Buzzer Buzzed!

My hope rose, a lioghtness came over me... is this the delivery? Has the lift been mended? I hastened, with joy in heart, and crossed fingers, to open the front door... Ah, well!

It was Josie returning Sundays meal things and tray. Oh, dear, poor Josie, the look of disappointment on my face, must have looked bad to her! But I don't think she noticed. We had a chinwag, told of what we each knew of the clamitous situation with the power failure.

I really believed that it might be the Morrison order coming.

As if I should be so lucky?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Intercom Sounded

More amazingly, I heard it!

It was the Amazon Delivery driver. The screen froze as he was talking, and I couldn't understand a word he was saying. I said, please be patient, and I will come down to you... Not knowing if he had heard me at all.

I'd already got the lock-up keys with me, and the plan was to put the tins and long life stuff into the cupboard locker, and take the fresh stuff up to the flat. Hoping the lift comes back on (they didn't) in time for me to go down and collect them. A cunning plan, eh?

I Started Down the Concrete Stairs...

Another stupid idea of mine, but there you go! The first two flights were tackled with what I thought was almost ease... on the fourth, I had to stop for a breather, and that set the rot in; Back-Pain Brenda, Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna, and Saccades were making me realise this stair marathon, couldn't be done.

The Young Deliveryman...

Arrived, running up the staires with two parcels of the order!!! He got me on my feet again, and told me to go back up, he will brings the things up to the flat. What a Gentleman!

The Climb Back Up the Stairs...

I couldn't manage even half a flight, without stopping to rest and let the pain ease. On my way back up from the ninth floor, the delvery lad passed me with parcels in his hands, on his way up with them, then on his way down again, four times! He must be an athlete!

Then on the man's last journey up, he slowed down to assisted me with his free hand to make it back up!

He stayed chirpy throughout his ordeal. Even opened the lobby door for me!

Five parcels and a pack of six one litre spring water, that's what he'd us raon the stairs I don't know how many times with, all for me, an old stranger!

Talk about young Gentleman. I offered him a can of plonk, which he took (and deserved), saying  "This will be loved by my wife, thank you!"

He was thanking me! What a hero!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Spirits & Hopes Increased

I grovelled offering my own appreciation to the lad, wishing him well as he shot off. What a great, helpful, understanding chap he was!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I got the goods put away...

Planning my evening meal at the same time. I think small peas, a potato or two, and one of the BBQ steak thingies. Oh, I've a few tomatoes left, I'll have a couple of them as well.

I managed to get one of the microwave Breakfast Muffins... no, I got two! But they have a longer life on them, so if things work out well and as planned... Did I really just say that? Hehehe!... where was I?... Oh, yes, I'll have one of the larger BBQ Steak cobs, Gannet!

HERBERT

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

In a much better mood now!

All thanks to my Lithuanian saviour! Does anyone know how to mention his special service, to Amazon?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Aha, the Water is running Again

Not the lifts yet, though.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ablutionalisationing

Second Attempt!

It could take a longer while this time!

Although Shuddering Shoulder Shirley had eased off well, Nicodemus's Neurotransmitters, Anne Gyna, and Arthur Itis had joined in the current attack from the ailments. And of course, now it is getting on in the day, the weariness is coming on as well.

No rushing at this session. Ging to take time and be as careful as I cam manage to be. Fingers crossed - off to the wet room, in hopes that I can find everything needed, after the decluttering and cleaning mobs visitation.

Taking my time, here I go!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ablutionalisationing Completed!

Slow and steadt it went, and turned out a good session. No toe stubbing, or walking into or hitting anything, no cuts shaving... not one! (that I could see anyway).

The plates were looking good!

Despite the sever pains from Arthur Itis's knees, they were also looking in a good condition. Best for a while.

I was reet contented after showering, and tackled the getting dressed in a fine, hopeful spirit... and did so without any serious, harmful injuries!

Turned to leave the  wet room. and gave my right shoulder, a hefty clout against the door frame. Tsk!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Microwave Meal Made

When I got settled to eat it, well, I was flabbergasted. A packet of fresh cream French Horns had appeared on the plate? Hehehe! They are gone now!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Nodded Off....

Sweet Morpheus as visited, and was most welcome too. I did wake a few times, that was due to Colin Cramps!

Woken By Evening Carer

It was Jayne, I think. The TV was on, and I worked out I'd had about three hours kipping. Not straight through, but it was still a Jolly Good sleep!

Posted it off, went on Facebooking, and sent the link emails out. Cracking ne wbruise coming up on the arm, could be worth the Tate Gallery being advised of a photo availability to buy?

Saturday 28th August 2021: Inchies Diary, and sometimes the odd ode, that might be told?

SATURDAY 28th AUGUST 2021

06:00hrs: After a few failed attempts to get out of the recliner and dropping back to sleep, I managed to stir into blurry imitation wakefulness.

Had the customary wee-wee, made a brew of Thompsons Punjana, and found me doing the Health Checks.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Onto The Computer

Excellent results today!

Started Blog Updating

07:35hrs: No Moring Carer yet, but then again, it is a Saturday. A day that is infamous in the realms of staff 'Calling in late - can't get in' scenarios within the under-resourced Meridian.

Which, of course, puts extra hassle onto those who have to work to cover for the absentees. Nichole has a job and a half on; no blame attached there. As with the security world, the very nature and intense competition of the Care industry enforces an under-resourced situation that affects all staff. My EQ tells me that something similar is going to occurring this Saturday morning. Mmm! It's possible, a new gal or one that does not usually facilitate or service Woodthorpe Court might be coming today.

I waffled on a bit there. Sorry.

Photoed The End Car Park

Made a brew of Glengettie, took a wee-wee and stubbed my toe going back to the computer.

Morning Carer Arrived

08:10hrs: First time this gal has called on me. Jenna was her name. We went through what needed doing. She got the medications and questioning done in no time. We had a mini-chinwag...

Sister Jane Rang

Sang me the Happy Birthday song. We had a long natter about this, that and Nottingham Forest. A lovely touch on the envelope from Jane, a stamp with a picture of much misses Tabitha - the first and runt of them, to pass away. Excellent touch, Jane! ♥ Thanks, gal!

Porcelain Throne Visit

Another good session, well, apart from the getting things moving and a fair bit of bleeding. Not messy and ridded from the bowl with the second flush!

On the brighter side, I got a few more clues in on the 98th crossword puzzle!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got the Spuds In The Crockpot

Made a brew of 99 tea, and spotted a potato, just about worthy of Billum of near Ohio, and apophenia expert, to see he sees what I did in this spud photo.

Graphic Creating

To the accompaniment of Herberts tap-tapping, but it didn't last for long - hope he's alright?). I used CorelDraw to make up some graphicalisations for later use.

Spent a good few hours at this, but it was slow, frustrating work. Shuddering Shoulder Shirley being the main perpetrator this time.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Nosh

Super tasting little dish. Flavour rating of a much deserved 8/10.

I seem to have eaten it and fell asleep with the tray balancing on my mould of a flobby stomach. Hehehe!

Woken Up by Evening Carer

A few seconds were needed to acclimatise to this state of wakefulness. I soon realised I'd been in the land of Nod, for over four hours. (I Must have needed it?) I suppose.

I started talking and don't think I stopped gabbing much, at all. Not a lot of sense was spouting out of my mouth, gibberish at times! (I sensed a Mind-Haze was coming) I'm not surprised that Carer Jayne was looking a little dubious at me. Got the medications done, but was only offering me one tablet, not the usual five. Mentioned this, and she dug out some Warfarins for me. I mentioned the big tablet was missing, too? Atorvastatin was added. Offered her a can of plonk in thanks, and she asked for more, and took four! (for the others in the office?) Haha!

The Haze was Coming Over Me

Crapdoogles!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

All part of ageing's wonderous phase, in phrase!

When cometh down the fog and haze,

Mind control leaves, it just strays...

Thought Storms create a mind-malaise,

My very actions, I begin to dispraise,

Logicality, common-sense decays...

Beliefs I start to reappraise,

Sometimes this can last minutes or days!

Fare Thee Well!
