I wonder if these two elderly 'criminals' charged, were perhaps suffering with or from, dementia or Alzheimer's Disease? Not that they shouldn’t have been stopped, and the poor dogs saved. I’m so happy that they have all been found new permanent homes. Well done the NSPCA!
This snippet made me stop and think a while. With how I am, and getting steadily worse, I don’t think, even if it were allowed, I could even cope with looking after one cat nowadays. I found myself with a sense of empathy with the old couple. Rightly or wrongly.

The lowly continue in their loathsome ways. So a truck filled with bodies that were being smuggled in the the US was discovered in Texas. There was a mix of dead bodies and people who were still alive. The smugglers had sprinkled steak seasoning on the dead to try a mask the smell.

I quite agree with you regarding the mental state of the elderly couple who housed their hounds in a trailer, At least, let us hope that it was not their neighbor's van. Living in excrement and excrement-tainted dog food is something I wouldn't do to a dog.
Master Alsebruch particularly upsets me because he is young, so he will be released soon to continue with his favorite form of "amusement". He will then put an additional notch on a stick and find another victim and ruin another girl's life. Would that they could install a shackle around his offending member.
