Tales Of Nottingham Series
As recalled by Geriatric Gerry
This Issue: 2019
These're of a visit by Gerry, and ride on the Nottingham Wheel, in the Slab Square, in the City Centre.
(Those were the days!)
The above, were taken in the cage on the wheel. Gerry was in his eye-holes taking these. He almost got excited!
His spritits dropped a smidgeon when they had get staff to help hime get back down the steps afterwards! He then went on a hobble around taking snaps for posterity.
He's forgot where this was... Tsk! Ah, he's got it now... Upper Parliament Street and the top of Market Street.
Erm, err... maybe... or... HELP!
Nottingham Slab Square - South Parade
Nottingham Wheel from below - the same people had to get Gerry back up on his feet, that had to get him down the stairs. The old fool went up on the wheel again, the staff assisted him up the steps and into the cage...
He took the following snaps from the viewing cage
As the ride stopped, three men were there this time, waiting for old man. And embarrassingly carried him down to the ground level, on Slab Square!
This was the day, that he realised his daily marathon walks were over, finito, done with, and he nearly cried. Hahaha!
This is a marvelous tour guide, complete with many notable points to visit and to consider in a town that has gone under a number of names over the millennia, over 1,000 years old with a castle and lots of goings on, as described by fact gathers in the Valley of Silicon. These photos arrive with some great stories to go with the place and its thereabouts. Went by the name of Snottingaham at one point, as I understand. Now principally known for the kind fellow who maintains a daily journal read internationally and available in ethereal form, presently under the auspices of a recording and dissemination vehicle known as Blogger: at least for as long as the fell firm WordPress continues to confuse and nettle the editor-in-chief with all manner of mischief.
ReplyDeleteWhile faffing about Googler, I happened upon a long list of accomplishments that the town of Nottingham has gifted the planet. Here are 20 amazing things to know about your home town:
