Wednesday 21st July 2021: Diary, Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

Yee Gods! I overslept! Me? Amazing!

5½ hours of Sweet Morpheus's attentions, 01:00 to 06:30hrs! But this caused a semi-panic, then a Whoopsidenagleplop or two, as I woke up - a certain amount of confusion as well. Here's how things developed, as best I can recall: Woke up, I realised it was light... Looked at the wristwatch, then the clock... 06:30hrs: I remembered the Sainsbury's order was due twixt 06:30hrs and 07:30hrs... Fumbling my way out of the c1968 recliner, I thought I heard the door chimes... I nearly went over in getting to the door... But, no one was there? Then it dawned on me: it was the Intercom that was making the tune... It stopped before I could get to it... Then the landline rang forth - it was the JS deliveryman. I pressed the admit button... Scrambled about getting some trousers on... The indignant looking driver kindly threw the stuff in the box and bags for me and put them urgently inside the doorway...

I offered him a choice of plonk in thanks...
But this did not go down well with the chap...
Off he trundled, and I got the goods into the kitchenette to unload.

Sorted Out the Shortages

And things I'd ordered wrongly, Tsk!

The first lot had some naughty, comfort foods, and the best thing delivered: Fresh Pod Garden Peas. Got some at long last! Yee-Haa!

I thought I'd ordered two 200gm bags of misshaped mini potatoes but got it wrong - it was two bigger bags of 750gm!

Then, I found the 500gm bag of unperfect larger potatoes I assumed I'd ordered; it was a 2,500gm bag! I should be alright for potatoes, then?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Wee-wee and a Wash

I felt a little sturdy medically afterwards. But not the brain. That was, that was still in a stubborn and excerebrose-mode!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Onto the Computer.

I took this snap of the view through the balcony. And as I was about to start on this blog.

Then... Humph!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

No Internet I got the spuds Started

Health Checks Done

Ah, the good run on the Blood Pressure and other tests seems to be coming to an end?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Meridian Carer Arrived

It was supervisor Natalie. She seemed a little tense at first? But I brought her round with a few funnies and had her smiling again. She spoke of the shortages of medications, and I told her I'd mentioned to yesterdays carer. She's to look into the prescriptions and ring the Pharmacy for me. Bless Her! ♥

Pod Peas Shelled!

Highlight Of The Day to Date!

Using my well planned and highly efficient new method of de-podding, the peas suited me down to the ground:

"One for the pot, one for me!" Hehehe!.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

With so many items missing from the J Sainsbury order, I opted to make one for Iceland. Their site was in a bad state, dead slow, changing pages of its own accord Etcetera.! And getting in to pay for the goods was farcical, the order kept going to 'Save'. I'm not even sure how I got it in eventually.

I had to try three times to get a response by email that they had got the order. Hey-Ho!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Second Best Job of the Day

I had another go at making some pickled cucumber. I've lost the recipe I kept from the successful one I did - or rather, I can't find it!

I'll see how they come out. I added with the other ingredients a good splash of Worcester Sauce... that might prove disastrous. Hehe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Putting the jar into the fridge, I caught the China mug hanging on its hook... Argh! Another miracle, it didn't break! And it travelled a fair way before it hit the floor; phew!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Landline Call In

A lady from Social Care rang me. A lengthy question and answer session later... I think we agreed to be visited by someone, but what it was concerning, I'm not sure. Perhaps paying for help with the laundering, or shopping?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got The Nosh Sorted

Very late now, so I'll get the fodder made up and see how I feel then.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

92°f on the balcony thermometer!

The late afternoon sun is now in an optimum position to fry me to a crisp! I pulled together the hand me down moth-eaten, thin, threadbare curtains in a vain effort to keep cooler. Got down in the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, wobbly-recliner, and Zzzz!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

An hour-and-a-half later, at 18:00hrs...

I woke, passed wind involuntarily, the glasses fell off of my head, I knocked the food tray off of my bulbous belly, and the landline rang and flashed. A rude awakening, you could say? ☺

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Evening Carer Arrived

The gal had tended to me before a few times, a nice lady, always polite and after doing her paperwork and tabletmentising, had a little chinwag. Then, went with me to the waste-chute room as I took the bags to be deposited, Bless Her ♥.

An Ode To Today

At times today, it felt like I was on a high,

Ready, able and willing to fly!

I'd begged for existence to simplify,

Feeling my brain would either melt or solidify,

Reasons for these emotions, I couldn't ratify,

The memory is fractured, I cannot deny,

Could my brain, the Doctors detoxify?

My worries and fears seemed to magnify,

Other times, I withdrew, just wanted to cry?

Saw the moon, was the end really nigh?

What's it all about - and Why?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I wish these Thought Storms would stop!

Tuesday 20th July 2021: Diary, Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

Tuesday 20th July 2021

06:00hrs: I woke, fighting my slugabed feeling, and got help from the need of a wee-wee arriving. This forced me into imitation activity, and I rose up.

Free of the  £300, second-hand, c1968, grungy, eyesorely-horrendously beige coloured, uncomfortable Harold Haemorrhoid-testing, unfit-for-use, recliner, with almost ease? Only Duodenal Donald was of any bother worth mentioning, Grrreat! Limped over to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket) and struggled to get the wee-wee to start flowing, despite the sense of urgency the bladder was giving me? Without any PM (Pre-Micturitional) or CM (Cessational Micturitional) dribbling. The brain engaged gear.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Carbohydrates In The Slow-Cooker

I removed the manky potatoes from the bag of Tesco small potatoes, and I got the rest in the crock-pot. Seasoned them slightly with both Worcester sauce and Stubbs liquid smoke. No salt was needed, at least, I think not.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I pressed on with the Health Checks

Yet again, another lowest ever Blood Pressure! I don't understand why, but it must be good! Fings are looking up medicationally speaking.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I got the urge to do a silly ode... So I did!

Ode To My Habit To Haver

Yes, we're all getting olderer,

In my case, the mind was first to witherer,

I soon became known as, 'That old ditherer',

Whoopsiedangleplops, mind-blanks I often suffer,

I'm the oldest living virgin; just a rumour!

But I still love being a pointless natterer,

To myself, I now tend to be a mutterer,

So why am I cutting down on butter?

Why do I remain a plonk-free abstainer?

Cause it prevents me from having a hangover?

Plain food, tomatoes, potatoes I savour?

The flat can do with a decluttering makeover,

From the topic intended, I seem to waver!

Logicality, commonsense, seem out of favour?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Waste Bags Sorted - then the Ablutions!

Got the bags into the box to go to the chute later. Then responded to the bowels calling me to attend to the Porcelain Throne duties.

This session was easier than yesterday. Cleaner, flushed away the first time! No bleeding whatsoever. Painless! With the Health Checks being so good and now the Porcelain Throne sessions going so well... it's worryingly unnatural!

At least the ablutions went okayish.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

First Brew of Glengettie

This didn't go so well!

Accifauxpa-Whoopsiedangleplop!

My run of excellent luck came to a rather unceremoniously messy end! It had to come!

Made the brew, and I delved into the fridge to get the milk... A combination of Peripheral Pete and Nicodemus's neurotransmitters combined attack ensured that the bottle flew out of my right hand!

After cleaning up the spilt milk and salvaging as much as possible, I decided that the tea would be too cold. And made another mug. Thompsons Punjana this time...

I very carefully replaced the bottle in the fridge. But, one can be as careful as one likes; if another Peripheral Pets shaking session starts, you can be in trouble, and I was! Flibblegonkackles!

As I let go of the placed bottle, the right arm shot out in one of its rare but annoying Hitler salute imitations! The arm went into the depths of the fridge, and the knuckle got trapped between two racks! The wound was nothing, a scratch, compared to the mess I created in knocking off a shelf rack and redistributing the various foodstuff I'd just cleaned the milk off of in different places, including scattered about the floor!

Now, this scenario, I am used to. Cause it is a more frequent 'Bad Luck' style of happenings for me. I don't enjoy them, but I can cope to a degree, being a more familiar event in my life.

I just went into 'Sulk-Mode', swore quietly but proliferously, and stemmed the tears. Dabbed some ointment on the hand, and I started singing to myself. I've no idea why. Hahaha!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I went for a Mope-Moment on the Balcony

Ended up taking a photo of the end of Chestnut Walk, where the progress with the new car parking spaces seemed to be coming on well.

I took this shot of an intruder using Chestnut Walk to cut through to the Woodthorpe Grange Park. I thought it might have been a carer on his way to visit me. I was wrong.

I'm good at that, being wrong!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Missing Photo Found

I came across this photo of the view last night. From the open balcony doors, from the £300, c1968, recliner. As I waited for Sweet Morpheus.

You can just make out the gaps between the window panes.

I'm right out of them now, Tsk!

Managed a couple of them.

Home-Made Veg Chilli Started!

Transferred it to the saucepan to marinate. I did so with a sense of failure - when I ate a spoonful, it didn't taste like I thought it ought to! So, stupidly added some beef stockpot to it and a smidge more burnt smoked paprika. Mmm?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Sat In The Sunshine - Feet Up!

Had a half-hour kip, woke with a nervous twitch, and went to get the meal prepared. Added the potatoes and got settled to feast.

I had no desserts left in the fridge, and only two rounds of wholemeal bread thins left. (Fear not, for Lord Sainsbury is to deliver some of both in the morning, Hahaha!)  Come think of it if he doesn't do what he loves to do, and substitute bleach or oven cleaner for the bread if he has none in stock to send... Sarkie Inchie, Stop It!

Seems I'd had a moment of allotriophagy with the meal. It was nothing like I expected it to be... oh, and I forgot to put the leeks in as well!

It didn't look or smell too bad, but the flavour at first, I believed, was bland and insipid.

Idiosyncratic, I know, but as I ate more, the tastiness grew, the flavour came out, and the meal was soon quondam! My mood went from zemblanity to serendipity in minutes.

Final Taste Rating: 9.25/10!

I had another Shower

I cleaned the teeth, remembering to use the prescription Duraphat toothpaste and not to rinse or use mouthwash, just to spit out the most I could.

Shaving: well, it still amazes me how the ailments seem to attack when I've got razors in my hand? This time Nicodemus's Neurotransmitters went from the usual sensing and not sensing, but I had apaesthesia from Neurophy Pete in the left hand and the usual right one! For the whole time I was struggling to shave, the dropsies were at a record level. I think the razor has been damaged: it either flew away or dropped that often!

The stroke-related ailments have neve been more vagarious - although I avoided any cuts, nicks and falls, all the same. Extra-specially when I got in the shower, and the hassle mysteriously and freakily, although very welcomed,  eased off back to a copeable average level? Which gave me a warm glow. Until that is, it came to medicationalisationing and the treating of the Harold Hemorrhoid fungal lesion.

Despite the embarrassment, I'm going to make an appointment to see the Doctor. The pain is getting to an unbearable level now.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Got the Waste Bags Ready

I must take them to the chute tonight. Cause in the morning, I'll need to use the box for Lord J  Sainsbury to fill with my delivery... We'll see!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -.

Carer Eliska Arrived

I am always a bubbly natured gal, but not quite so today for some reason, but still sociable enough for my liking. Eliska made a list of prescription medications left: it seems I am getting low now. She will try to sort out the next batch of prescriptions for me. ♥ She departed, and I could detect that something was keeping her attention that was bothering her: what? No idea.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Waste Bags To the Chute RooM

Neuropathy Pete lost it for a second or two, but enough for me to hit the knuckle on too small, cast iron chute cover. This did not bother me, of course. I scoffed at it! Although to the uninitiated, this may have sounded like a naughty word?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Little Inchies Fungal Lesion Bled Again!

After treating the lesion, I am more committed than ever to get some help from the Doctor! The pain is now taking over from Duodenal Donald, as the significant contributor to Inchies agony!

After the torture of ointmentating little Inchie, I changed into the jammie-bottoms.

Blimey, had the legs shrunk or what? Ah, well, I might lose some weight, then?

Monday 19th July 2021: Diary, Photographicalisations, and maybe the odd ode, that might be told?

Sunday 18th July 2021

21:25hrs: Still, no carer arrived from Meridian Health & Social Care... Hehehe! Posted off yesterdays blog and email link.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Made a start on this template, then looked for any comments that may have come in on Blogger. Tim and Bill posted. I answered them and did my best to stay awake if a Meridian Carer might call on me. What a Twit!

I was not really expecting any Meridian Carer to arrive by the time it was 00:30hrs. Needless to say, no one came - thus, the dilemma of taking the medications myself arose. I think I took them correctly. It was a late taking of the Warfarin that concerned me. With my Vampire Angel Hristina being due in the morning or morrow, the late imbibing may affect the INR level recorded?

The last I recall making on the time was about 01:30hrs. I felt unwell with staying up for so long, and nature sent me off into sleep... but a fitful one, ever waking thinking I heard a noise and getting up to check the door... thinking a Meridian Carer might have arrived later. Nope!

Monday 19th July 2021

06:00hrs: I rose from the fretful broken nod offs. The brain filled with worries: This computer's imminent death, the Meridian Carers none show, and as expected with all the hassle, Duodenal Donald giving me hell, pain-wise.

I gulped down some of the ineffective Pentac. Took a couple of  Paracetamol but dare not take Codeine, although I might weaken later if these stabbing pains from Donald do not ease off; in case it confuses the morning carer... if Meridian Health & Social Care can manage to get me one this morning. I'll have to look into where to complain about the unreliability of Meridian Health & Social Care later on.

Mind you, as usual, I can see and understand their problems. Late, "I'm poorly" Carer callers can cause a right kerfuffle and present the enviable job of trying to get someone to cover, and so often, that the few willing to cover folks get fed up with it. The controllers get rattled with the frustration of not being able to rely on (some) staff, and the willingness to provide cover brings more complicated and complex, more frustrating anger making, all around, it seems! The mind turns!

No, I'll not moan officially. I can recall in the Security industry, like Meridian Health & Social Care, companies fail to impress and have a rebranding with the same staff that has cost them their reputation and a new name. Mission Impossible!  They are just hoping things will be better this time around.

Mini-Rant Over!

Porcelain Throne Attended

07:30hrs: Making a brew of Glengettie tea, and a call to the Throne arrived. Which I responded to without hesitation. The session was as smooth as silk, and I would have liked a moment or two to appreciate this - No pain at all! No Bleeding! Minimal effort was needed! Grrreat!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Morning Carer Arrived

As I grabbed the Sainsbury's Recycling toilet roll, the one that doesn't go down to the sewers very willingly and blocks the pipe... and the door chimes rang out! It was the Morning Carer. I called out, and faffled about cleaning things up, washed my hands and out to find the gal sorting the medications in the front room. Bless her! I hoped any 'aroma' was not too bad for her, but the look on her face said it might have been... Oh, dearie me!

After she had questioned me on what I'd taken earlier and sorted out the medications for me, I mentioned the none-appearance of the evening Carer last night. I think she understood that I may have got things wrong, but Pamela (I believe I have the name wrong. sorry, gal)  was very calm and understanding in her response. I did not show any frustration or anger as I explained things to her: it was certainly not her fault, bless her cotton socks.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Checked the Wet Room

After the competent Meridian Health & Social Care care had gone, I checked in the wet room to ensure I'd not left anything on or off when I rushed out earlier on the Carers arrival. I used the new Harpic cleaner in the bowl. I only squirted a small amount around the recess, heap deep blue!

Then made up some waste bags and put them in the box on the trolley to go later.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A Brew of Glengettie Tea
I'll try to get this one drank!

Made the mug, and I settled back on the computer... and the door chimes rang forth again! Whatever next? It was the Carer gal returning. To have a look at the stocks of medications, as they were getting low. As I kept quiet so she could concentrate, the thought that my short term memory is highly vapourisable came to mind.

Karen (I might have her name right this time, I hope) Got her details required, and she shot off with the Chemist's telephone number.

That'll be 0115 960 5453, for Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, next to the launderette and pub, near the Lidl store. With the snotty pharmacologist who made up my pill pods a few months ago, without putting any seal in the packs, and I lost the tablets as they shot out onto the floor - some have been seen again! No acknowledgement or, heaven forbid, any apology was given. They just ignored me.

Then told me the following month that I'd made a cock-up in my stocks and left me for five days without any medications. Did I mind? Yes!

Said thank you to Karen, and gave a tangential farewell, and off she went ♥.

The Landline Flashed

Answered the phone - a few seconds delay - recorded Message began: 'I am calling from your Internet Provider...' I rang Off!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Hristina Arrived...

My beloved Haematology Vampire Nurse had used the Intercom and got through to me! And, the panel let me admit her!  Pshaw! Wowee! Hecky-thump! Has the intercom been mended at last? Is it working correctly again? Am I dreaming?

I just had to go for a wee-wee, bearing in mind this was only the second one of the day; you can imagine what the bladder felt like. Hristina got in the flat, and I said, 'Sorry, be there in a minute, I just had to go'. I joined her in the main room.

She was on the balcony, looking down at the progress being made at the end of Chestnut Walk with the new car parking spaced. She was genuinely excited at the thought of having more car spaces available, bless her.

I asked her if I could take a photo of her on the balcony, with the scenery behind her. And she agreed. So, I did.

♥ There you are, the reason for the word Pulchritude being invented! Even with her face mask on! ♥ Oh, those eyes melt me! ♥

On With Updating Again
The door chimes chimed. At first, I thought, ah, could this be someone from the taciturn Meridian Health & Social Care, to maybe explain things about the none-show of the carer, or even to apologise? Silly me!  It was Josie returning the tray cutlery and dish from yesterdays meal. She seemed alright in herself, cheery enough.

Getting Late Now

It won't be too long, a couple of hours maybe, before the Meridian evening carer will be calling... well, should be calling on me. I was surprised at hearing nothing from them yet, but thinking about it, no, I'm not surprised at all.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Nosh Time

It may look like a poor man's meal - that's because it is! Hehe! Only joking! I was not feeling hungry enough to risk eating anymore.

The last two pork and pickle pork pies, the last of the white pickled onions, the last of the Iceland potatoes, the last pickled egg, gherkins and a mix of tomatoes. This got me thinking - (I do that sometimes), and I added some fodder to the Wednesday delivery from J Sainsbury's. Seafood sticks, potatoes and crispy cooked bacon. I've still got some of the crap Tesco potatoes for tomorrow, a battered lump of Marmite cheese, and only a few only just out-of-date Surami sticks for lunch.

Waiting For The Carer To Call

Waiting For The Evening Carer To Call.

If indeed one is to call at all,

The brain fades, begins to stall,

Coherence mingles, I remain fearful,

Hello! I've wee-weed half a bucketful!

T'was like a mini hosepipe; that was incredible!

I've forgotten what I was going to type. Stressful!

There's one thing for which I should be grateful,

I've enough ice cream to fill a great plateful,

Maybe Twiglets too, purely complimental,

I'd better not though I've troubles dental!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Evening Carer Arrived

Made my Night!

I was sat sitting creating the ode above, and a sweet voice was heard, the evening Carer had arrived. It was the lady whose name I cannot remember, come think of it, I have troubles recalling any of them, Hehe!

After she'd done the questions and issued my medications, I told her of my concerns over no evening carer having called on me last night. (Although at the back of my muddled brain, I feared that someone had called, and I may have had a memory blank again). She said; !If it happens again, after 20:00hrs, press the wristlet alarm and let someone know at Nottingham City Homes, then they can call Meridian!" I asked Katie (but that's probably not her name), I'm Christening her my Caring Carer from now on: Why did I not think of that? I thanked her, and off she went on her rounds, bless her! ♥
